I would do a Chicago 17 oa for Ottawa 28, 33 and 51
And the order of selection for the Hawks is 17, 46, 79, to be determine at the 3 rd round (76 or 81), 110, 141, 172. - Charlau
No way would I trade out of the top 20, unless I was the GM of team that can get better next season.
21-33 are very close in the same tier, and 51 gets you still look at success, but those stats that everybody seems to see as bible to when you pick and the success...they apply except for the inordinate amount of really good prospects on the board at #217...and all you need is one or two reaches that are below on the hawk list and they get even a better field of choices...

Why would Stan let Lehner go if he could have signed him for 5 mil . Big fail on Stan part .He has let the goaltending position fall into total disrepair . - oldduffman
because in a compacted schedule he wants to lose every shoot-out because Lehner isn't going move his lards quick enough to stop the majority of the shooters unless the puck flubbers on him...

Definitely no sure thing and maybe not even a true NHL backup among the group. If Crow opts for greener pastures I would prefer they either go with the 3 in house or sign one of the UFA's for cheap (maybe Greiss) and rotate the other three.
They either sink or swim and as some have said, at worst it's another lottery pick. Gotta keep building. - HawkintheD
I would qualify Subban . After that it |

How close are the Hawks to being a legitimate Cup contending team? In my opinion they are at least 2-3 years away based on the young d-men maturing enough to be solid NHL defenders. Therefore, the goalie for the next couple seasons is less important than who is in goal when the team has improved enough to compete for the Cup so coupled with the fact that the Cap is flat, I think it would be foolish to spend more of the Cap on a Crawford or Fleury than is warranted given the situation. The goalie position should be handled like a bridge to the goalie we need 2-3 years from now. Get a cheap veteran like Anderson and/or go with the in-house guys for the time being. - EbonyRaptor
I agree on most counts of your logic, but I also think Kane and Loews are not gonna be satisfied missing the playoffs and the kids need that experience.
So they will either get Crow to negotiate down from his $ or they will go NHL alternate / option. I think a Rockford (or Subban?) is the only this that IS for sure.
And at some point you need Rockford or a new prospect to actually be able to be a NHL workhorse that wins...and that is the longterm issue.

All I know is if I am StanBo and as soon as I find out Markström is going to be an UFA, I am clearing contracts and getting ahead of the other teams...IF he will sign here.
And there WILL BE goalies whose UFA dreams of a FAT DEAL are falling short as the contenders swoop in on the bigger goalie targets, so they will start listening ton teams like Chicago as nice alternate plans based on the culture, city, and facilities... |

They see a BIG GUY that plays different than Fleury and they want to move on.
and there seems to be no Richardering on the dollars, and Lard ass IS / WAS a good teammate to hawks, Knights.
They think their defense can work off his save and get out of the zone as he makes the big save.
Honestly he was so good after the trade I totally understand but I would look at the playoffs a bit.
I am not saying if you are a team whose owner wants to win, and you got a favorable guy who is willing to sign long term with out a drawn out negotiation, a bidding war, sure...it is a fit.
That is why they see "something different than me or my girlfriend, Stan.

Yeah I know, that was part of an earlier post all the possible Askarov destinations, BUT you think Detroit's playing with fire to not take a forwards here and (a defender in next years thick defender derby) and sign a goalie for now. They have so many needs !
and Ottawa has got so many picks and to with both their early spots, you HAVE to take those great forwards, as there is a lot of security in their excellence to play for sure. I this it is a mistake if the reach (defender or goalie).
It is simply a matter of return. (Anybody the latest Byran Bowen projection has him not being on Colorado this Fall/Winter because he needs time - wiz1901[/I]? Remember all that plays right away hype?
I like the top two offenseman and the next two also who are clearly reaches but have a payoff and. security in the strengths.
It all depends upon how quickly they think the learning curve on Yaroslav Askarov is and all that could backfire.
Detroit has time team is rebuilding and no goalie prospects in the system same with Ottawa. Detroit is very far from becoming a playoff team and Ottawa if hit on all 3 1st rounds pick could be in contention in couple years for playoffs.

I'd actually like the idea of a rebuild season. Go with Subban, Delia or Lankinen on net. Trade Murphy and Saad for 2 more first rounders in this draft. Take on a bad contract or two for more high draft picks or A level prospects. Go for a real run in 2021-22 (with a legitimate head coach)! - tvetter
None of those draft picks will be playing for 2-3 years and they would be young and inexperienced then. Saad and Murphy aren't bringing back top 10 picks. |

I don't think Lehner was thinking $5x5:at the TDL. |

Delia, Subban and Lankinen are 26, 26, 25 all with at least 2 years of pro experience. I would just go with the 3 (with one starting in a Rockford), and see who steps up. Maybe none do, but even if Crow signs, they have to make a decision on the 3 sometime. |

Patriot's Cam Newton tests positive with covid-19. Sunday's New England-Kansas City game postponed to Monday or Tuesday. The league moves the Bears-Colts kickoff to 3:25 CST to fill the slot of the NE/KC game. |

I believe Stan is ok with those three rotating between Rockford and NHL, so the freshest goaltender having played is available. That said, I do not know the recsll rules for each. But that is of relatively minor concern. I do not believe that Stan wants to trust Subban or give him a new contract. It is either Crawford at Stan's price or a veteran (not Subban) who comes cheap. I would be surprised if Stan would trust Murray after experiencing Crawford with injuries. |

Fans of almost every team say they're 2-3 yeast from contending when it's actually longer than that as is with the Hawks. |

Ya that not a bad record of picking up back ups . I am referring to try and stable a true replacement for your starter .All he has done is throw darts at lottery tickets in the late rounds , And now we have nothing in the pipeline . . - oldduffman
What team has gone from a good starting goalie that aged out to another starter that takes over seamlessly? |

Gonna be a tough game for the Bears. Defense can't stop the run cough- snacks harrison - cough- Colts have two of the better lines in the game. Wish we had Ballard instead of Ryan 'I'll do anything I have to make mitch the starter' Pace as our gm. Should be a good game and thankfully we have a QB that can actually read 10 yards downfield now...
