biggest weakness on the team is the blueline imo. younger guys coming, hopefully one is legit top4 - neem55
Rathbone could be just that. Give it 2-3 years. RHD needs a stud. |

Regarding OEL expanding his list of potential trade partners beyond Boston & Vancouver:
I would be surprised to see that to happen.

There’s a lot of deficiencies imo, they’re offensive and fun to watch, but 1) the defence is terrible, 2) the bottom six is terrible five on five, 3) team wise they aren’t good defensively, 4) they’re bloated with bad contracts
I don’t know if Benning can fix this, under the current circumstances, or if he’s going to look to the future and try and be competitive? If he’s smart he’ll be patient and ride out the bad contracts while continuing to build through the draft. |

Why are you guys so eager to give a first round pick away when it seems that drafting is our GMs strongest skill? Instead on spending a 1st on OEL why not roll the dice on drafting a Dman in the first round?
At least that way the Canucks can have cost control if the player turns into a stud. - bloatedmosquito

Which guys are eager...20 guys against and one for, with me that couldn't care less.

I see the skating and passing, it's mostly guys that can defend well that I'm interested in though if I'm honest. Not sure if I see a top4 guy. I really like Woo's toolkit though, he's a guy I'm looking forward to seeing where he is at.

Canucks don’t have the best of luck drafting out of the Q lol - Nucker101
LOL - name ANY defenseman out of the Q that's had an ounce of impact in the NHL in the last 10 years???? (other than Chabot)
Hint: I won't hold my breath |

Marc-Edouard Vlasic comes to mind. Just a steady guy back there for most of his career. |

Being LHD heavy offensively speaking I’m with you Neem we need shutdown type RHD to compliment them. I’m fine with Myers but Hughes needs a partner soon. Cernak |

He didn’t say defencemen, he just said the Canucks haven’t had good luck in the Quebec League. Some of the greatest players ever have come out of the QMJHL....Ray Bourque, Mike Bossy, Guy Lafleur, Mario Lemieux, Cindy Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon, etc. etc. |

I don't think he is going anywhere, something needs to happen in tbay, but I'm pretty sure it isnt getting rid of rising talent. If he wants to sign an offer sheet, that's amazing and I'm all for it. I but I just don't see it.

Unless we're willing to vastly overpay Tampa for just his rights (let's be clear, he's an RFA with arbitration rights so signing him isn't guaranteed) we aren't getting Cernak. There's no way JB will go the OS route, since teams rarely walk away from players like that. Other than Dustin Penner, I can't recall a team that has accepted the compensation from another team and walked away from a player (I checked online... Penner is the only one since 2007 to have had their previous team accept the compensation. You have to go back to 1997 and Chris Gratton for the next one) |

His value would fetch a 2nd on an OS so assuming TB unloads say Killorn for cap to resign Sergachev & Cirelli is still not enough then to sign Cernak is even more yet. A 2nd & sweetener might do it. |
