Plus the haters then were all over JB for showing his cards to lose the VGK deal by having a Petey jersey that could be seen supposedly. They also were on him saying he could have traded down further and got him at 7/8 but the Rangers traded up to 7th hoping to get Petey too.


Facts revealed Canucks were hot on him with Makar #1 on their list. Glass was a consideration if Petey wasn't available that was their draft plan.

That’s not true, Inge Hammarström first scouted him and then he was subsequently scouted by numerous Canucks personnel. Delorme was a huge factor in pushing for him once he saw him though.

Your statement still isn’t true, Delorme didn’t initially tell Benning about Pettersson, Hammarström did. Ron Delorme isn’t a European scout. But he did, from what I know, go over and scout him after Canucks European scout Hammarström told them we gotta watch this kid.

If you read about Hammarström you’ll discover he used to work for the Flyers and convinced them to draft Peter Forsberg at #6, he wasn’t expected to go that early in the draft.

Petey was drafted and he was the whole organizations pick since Makar was going at #4 to Colorado and Glass was the 2nd choice if Petey had been taken by Dallas (since everyone knew NJ was taking Nico Hischier and Philly was taking Nolan Patrick no matter what)

I haven’t heard an actual report from anyone in the coyotes organization that they want to trade OEL, but I have heard the owner wants to cut real dollars salary. If they can get him on the cheap it’d be a major coup for Benning.
