I think this year it's OJ on the Canucks, Rathbone on the Comets – that is, if there is an AHL season. If there isn't, I'd expect rosters to be expanded and for them to keep Rathbone up on a "practice squad" that doesn't count against the cap.

I heard ARI doesn't want to retain $, probably what will hold up this deal for BOS or VAN.

They have to move OJ. We would have to expose him for the Seattle expansion draft. Rathbone is exempt.

Sutter trade makes OEL 4 mil this year , that is very acceptable. The following year you move one more player via trade or buyout and then all kinds of money come off the books the following year and it is a whole different story.


I know people will probably freak out but I think this will be Boesers last year with the team . I think his shot has diminished and he is a little slow. I don't want to get into a long discussion about BB but I would trade him next year when his value is high just like the Jets are doing with Laine.

The Canucks, I'm told this morning, are hanging in there on the OEL trade front. But still not clear if it will lead to the finish line. No question I think the Coyotes would prefer OEL expand his list of teams instead.

Seem's like OEL may end up here.

Seriously you guys have got to drop this Petey and Hughes 10 stuff. Hughes and him will get a bridge deal and maybe the contract after they will get 10 . Hughes is a RFA with no arb rights and can not be offer sheeted. Start thinking 7-7.5 short term . Get out of this flat cap and then sign the big deals.

I think this is being overplayed, there are a lot better fits out there than an 8.5 million dollar a year 29 year old defenseman with seven years left on his contract.
