I can understand if someone might not want Martin but I like Martin too. I like the Islanders entire bottom six.

And around is the key word. One loss the other team scored 7 goals on like 19 shots. Elliot can’t be blamed for all goals scored against.

The NFC East is so bad they could tear it down and do a full rebuild next summer and still probably compete for the division next year.

Just curious, if a team holds most shots to the perimeter, not giving up many high danger scoring chances, and the goalie gets a shut out. Is his save percentage not just as much attributed to team defense as it is to the goalie?

It might show up on the goalie’s stat line, but it easily can be a result of overall team play.

It’s both. You’re the one saying it’s an individual stat. A goalie is definitely capable of standing on his head, but I think that happens way less often than a goalie getting bailed out by his team.

It's a stat applied to a goaltender, but influenced by his team, the quality of teams he faces, game situations, tightness of referees, etc.

But yeah, solely a goaltending stat.
