You literally just admitted that it has something to do with the team playing in front of him. You can’t get any dumber. - Ftown19125
Bottom line is it comes down to one player controlling his own save % does it not?You make the save or you don't. My bad if this if that, well what about this what about that. |

If we retain $1M on Jake his salary owed would be less than $6M/yr which could be attractive to a team such as Detroit or Dallas.
This team needs some new blood instilled into the top 6 |

Retaining on any deal with a flat cap isn’t a good move imo. You’re better off keeping Jake and hope all these prospects are the new blood that improve our team. |

Seriously. The NFC East has been trash before but this year is spectacularly bad. |

Eagles could potentially be alone in first place with 1 win after 4 games

Only to an extent. You have a player left alone on the backside for a wide open tap in because the defense missed an assignment, technically that effects save%, but it is in no way on the goalie.
That is an easy example of how it is not always on the goalie.

I get all that, of course it isnt always on the goalie. Fair or not it is still a much much more an individual stat than a team stat. Goalie has 1 job, stop the puck!!! |

They could easily be 0-4 if it wasn’t against the biggest choking franchise in the history of professional sports. |

Yeah I'd take Maroon for sure if he was cheap. Was more talking about Martin. - jmatchett383
Not getting anybody in FA likely. They will use the rest of their cap money to sign Patrick and the rest to sign Myers as long as they can.
It’s a hockey trade that is most likely if the do anything outside signing their RFA.
They could move someone for picks but that is very limited this year with the flat cap. And will get harder each year that the cap stays flat. |

Regardless how the team performs, save % is an individual goalie stat not team. Fair or not like momma says thats the way it bees sometimes. - login
I get what your saying and agree but it is not the only tool to measure a goalie. And yes so is win percentage. Skaters don’t walk around with win percentages tide to their stats. Goalies do for a reason.
Save are tide to a team effort just as wins are. There are other stats and reports used to justify what Moose means to this team.
But I’m not arguing that his .899 save percentage is above average for a goalie. It isn’t. |

no one really knows why he was sent home and immediately traded while being the top scrorer? Bill did it ever come out? - 2Real
He was having off-ice issues, and also not getting along with the coach. They had a blowup. Paul Holmgren sent him home, told him to get himself together and they'd find a trade. Trade was not immediate, BTW.
Maroon has since thanked Homer and said it saved his career. |
