First buyout window closes at 5pm Eastern time today. Zack Smith?
I wonder is James Neal will be bought out. If so would he be a fit with the Hawks (on a reasonably priced short term deal). He could play up and down the line up and on the pp. - -Doh-
2020 buyout window starts on Sept. 25 and ends on Oct. 8

LA, if Crow doesn’t come back there are many short term inexpensive goalie options, no need to give up assets for Andersen or any other goalie at this time. Let’s keep building the offense and defense, who knows, maybe somebody steps up and plays decent in goal. - Angotti
I am not giving up assets, I am giving up “future considerations”, the ones we got from Vegas for Kruger. The #1 pick is Toronto’s cost of us taking Anderson.

I'm surprised capfriendly doesn't have a table on their home page listing these buyouts. |

Montreal is desperate for a top 6, so Saad and Mtl's #1 as the main parts, not sure who else would go each way.
Toronto, I would take Anderson (especially if Crow is gone), one year left on his contract and the #1 for future considerations - LAHawk

So - if the Hawks were going to buy out - say - Toews, or Kane, or Keith (or even Smith) - wouldn’t they have to put them on waivers soon?
Haven’t seen anything yet. - StLBravesFan

Ah, don’t think Toronto will go for that. Like it was mentioned earlier, with a flat cap we will not see too many #1’s traded away, but for the right price anything is possible. |

For those who don't want Murray in net, breathe a sigh of relief.
@NHLRumorsDaily
Something to watch for: Since the breakdown in #Blackhawks/#LetsGoPens talks, I hear teams are pivoting back around to Matt Murray... Pens granting permission for his camp to talk contract with interested parties. |

Ekman-Larsson going to either remain a Coyote or be a Bruin or Canuck with Friday being his deadline to get a deal done or just stick on Arizona.
@FriedgeHNIC
Kevin Epp, agent who represents Oliver Ekman-Larsson, has informed the teams involved that the defenceman has set a deadline for the start of free agency on Friday to accept a trade to BOS or VAN. After that, he will close the window and stay a Coyote. |

I thought OEK was wise in naming two teams that don't have 1st round picks as his trade options, since that what one of the things the Yotes probably were looking for in return.

For those into uniform and logo designs:
The Senators will be unveiling their new uniforms at the draft. Their uniforms and logo are a throwback to their original set when they first entered the NHL.
Icethetics thinks the Coyotes may be unveiling something new as they've teased a white version of their famed Kachina jerseys.
Flames went full retro going back to their original set from the Lanny McDonald days.
Sabres have new uniforms that get them as close to their original set as possible.
The new Golden Knights 3rd jersey that's all gold has to go. Not as bad as the Predators mustard alternates from way back when but still not eye appealing, IMO. |

Le gardien Matt Murray, qui deviendra joueur autonome sans compensation cette semaine, est à la recherche d’un contrat qui lui rapportera au moins 6 millions de dollars par saison, a appris le journaliste de TVA Sports Renaud Lavoie.

Theo what would a shocking draft pick at 17 that nobody saw coming by the hawks? - Scott1977
In a bad way: Jeremie Poirier. He's Gustafsson 2.0 yet I could see Bowman being enamored by his offensive and mail carrying talents. Poirier flees the zone freely.
In a good way: Helge Grans. He is getting a lot of praise lately and has been ranked as the best European D-man available in some polls. Sizable and ability to carry the mail and create offense. |

Okay I didn't know that. Army's nick name is the Black Knights. Now I think I remember that could have been the first choice for the name, but the league thought it was too similar to the Black Hawks? Guess he wanted a similar name and modeled the Knight's uniforms after the cadet's.
