You out of your mind. My god. It’s time to move on, Jesus Christ. I’m serious, I moved on from Hank before last season even started. So glad he’s gone
- Slimtj100

So, now there's a right and wrong way to be a fan?
Come on, boys. To each his own.
You want to move on and look to the future? Fine.
You want to remember what was and look backward fondly? Also fine.

I'm glad they appear to have dealt with this in a way that there seems, on the surface at least, to be an amicable parting of ways.
Hank was certainly in the way, on the business side. But, it seems disrespectful to me to neglect the fact that Hank also helped that business more than any other single person for much of the last 15 years. This franchise, and this team, are not remotely what they are today if he never played here.
Thank you, Hank!! Now beat it, we got work to do!!

You really expect the Rangers NOT to get shutout by a returning player?

There's a clause to this rule that you have to be younger than 30

Don't get me wrong, I by no means am rooting for Hank to be bad. He's quite literally my favorite athlete of all time. The reality at this point in his career, though, is that he does suck. He's simply not good anymore. Hence why I couldn't care less where he goes.
- Bean_Dip

If you had said great I would agree with you. He will (I believe) appear serviceable on a team that has some semblance of defense. Or he totally sucks and I'm an idiot. All of that is possible.

I'm no goalie coach, but there are tell signs of a bad goalie such as slow glove, poor reaction time, bad angles. I saw too many of those traits when Hank played to blame his issues on the defense.

The truth probably falls in the middle somewhere between him being serviceable and him being bad. To me, that's not a good goalie.

Exactly. Since when is it a sin to move on from guys, I don’t get it. I appreciate everything he did. If we won a cup with him, I’d be sad he left. I have more bitterness then anything and if that makes me a doosh...well god damn it, im a doosh haha

C'mon TJ, you know damn well your stance on Hank isn't the reason you're a douche

You very well might be right. It's not like we didn't see those things happening. But we also saw some nights where he still had it. This long time off could be a good or a very bad thing for him. I just think it will be very interesting to see how it goes.

Is it Brodeur to St. Louis or Hasek back to the Wings in 05-06? Somewhere in between?

It's the cherry on top.

I almost always agree with TJ. Even when it's dumb like when we both wanted Karlsson here. Thankfully that never (frank)ing happened.

So, serious trade talk.

22 OA, 1st rounder next year(protected) Lias Andersson, and Kravtsov for Stamkos 1.5mil retained.

if it happened, I can certainly seeing myself getting very revved up for it

I just have a very hard time believing Stamkos wants to go anywhere

I can dream Jimmy.

I think it is kind of fair because the cost makes me cringe but I think Stamkos at 7mil makes it feel OK.

Tyler Johnson has given the Tampa Bay Lightning several teams to work with in the quest for trade. Sources say the list includes a mix of teams league wide. Good communication between Lightning GM, Julien BriseBois and the Johnson camp.

If they bought out Hank just to bring in Tyler Johnson I will absolutely loose my poop.

I am just happy Hank is signing with a team. If we bought him out just to retire after that would have pissed me off way more. So at least its easier to take the buyout now

seems to be a good bet that if Tyler Johnson gave his approval to a few teams the Rangers would be on it

more accurate though, I think they'd just let Strome walk and replace him with Johnson

if Rangers don't qualify Strome by 5pm today that means they are letting him walk, not sure if everyone is completely aware of that

Yea I saw that. I don't think they do, he has some trade value. I think they would at least qualify him and trade his rights at the draft if they had no interest in signing him.

I don't think the Rangers believe Strome is worth what they have to qualify him at, which I think is around 4.5 mil

when's the last time they did that?

certainly isn't in the nature to just let a player walk - let alone a center who went 18-41- 59 in 70 GP
