Jonathan Gruden. Over a point per game in OHL. Not bad. |

Man hasn't even hit the ice and people already are calling for him to be gone. I guess we found the next JJ lol. He in all actuality is a pretty good bottom 6 guy. I feel he will do well in ZAR's absence. He also is a good option in front of the net. Here is a video of his redirect against Washington.

Every advanced metric has Sceviour being an AHL call up caliber player and he’s been in the NHL in a meaningful capacity for 6 years. There’s plenty of sample. Let’s not do the “give the guy a chance” thing again. It’s exhausting. |

We got John Gruden?! - kfinl170
Ball Coach!
Seriously, this is what I thought the best case scenario for a Murray trade so I’m happy. Hope he reinvigorates in Ott, but I’m happy that headache is gone. |

Definitely ok with that. Any info on the prospect? - drummer829
Former 4th round pick from 2018... 20 years old... did not make the AHL club last year. 30 goals, 36 assists in 59 games in the OHL for the London Knights.
Ummm... he has a chance I think according to that points chart poop RW will bring out. Gotta see I think .8 ppg in the AHL for that 'likely success'... a PPG anywhere else is never bad. |

Yea I mean we all thought we were getting a third for Murray so can't be mad about the return. |

Now lets pretend we can trade Mattheson without taking back on cap and really start to do an excessive amount of moves that will make the team worse... JR style |

Did the same with JJ lol. He's not an albatross, but I'd rather have the cap space personally. - 668710
Right now ZAR will be on LTIR to start the season so a portion of his salary will be considered nullified since he is the place holder for ZAR. The guy can play center and wing. He can play well on the 3rd and 4th lines. He does have a lot of deflection and rebound goals. So maybe our scouts see him as an option in front of the net with Hornqvist gone. I know that JR had scouts scouting Florida games for quite some time I think they see something in Matheson and Sceviour to be ok with JR acquiring them both.

Anything resembling NHL upside that doesn’t have to count against the cap ontop of a second is good. Wouldn’t be shocked if we never see Coach Gruden hit the grid iron for us, but I guess in theory he could. |

I dont know that he will because they also got a 2nd round pick. This kid can go straight to Wilkes because of his age and potentially be a call up if he performs there.

I would expect no less... because its really easy to see the angle RW will use.
Murray traded for a return that does not help the cup window. A pick is a pick, its nice but it doesn't help us now. JR will probably mess up in a trade if he uses it right away. And a prospect that is 2 years away at best won't help in time.
There, saved you from reading the next blog. |

Fleury@50% and a 1st for DeSmith - only a 2.3 Million cap increase and nets a 1st
Trade that 1st and the Ottawa 2nd + ? for a 3C

I think Sceviour will be fine for the blueger s shutdown line and that should allow tanev to be a workhorse and board battler on a scoring line. - 10inchTerror
It wouldn't be a bad thing to start Poulin out with Blueger and Sceivour to get up to NHL speed. |
