Not a whole lot of draft capital now to pull that off.

Only prospects I don't think they are ready to move.

I will offer you one Shakira Mukadoopadoo for that pick. Your move.

Going half Tom, love it haha

No I meant because we got the Lafreniere. We got the youngsters now, lets start trading picks again. That was always fun

Actually last time he did it was K’andre
- jimbro83

Touche.

Buuuuut... K'Andre is actually the opposite in that he's super raw with upside. Braden is what he is...and will always be. You can sign him (Brendon Dillon) or you can draft him (drops into round 2 like Robertson). I wouldn't have picked him here. Neither would a lot of other guys but Gorton did, so nothing to do now but root for the guy.

And hope they unload Trouba on someone.

I just think it wasnt a great pick because of team needs. We have so much depth on RD, just dont know where he would fit down the line unless we trade ADA and Nils.
- aecliptic

Guaranteed NYR had a ton of prospects in every position. Seems they liked what Schneider brings and traded up to get him. None of these guys drafted Lundmark, Mccllrath, yada yada yada.

If anyone is disappointed today, well I don't have answered for that.

Ok. I'll throw in whatever reach Fitzgerald has planned for pick at 84. Word is there's some two way center from Zimbabwe one guy on twitter is raving about that Fitz has his eye one.

If Chytil has a great year and they can't agree on a contract with Tony, this will make me more comfortable with the pick

True on RHD. Maybe Trouba and his never ending string of boats is sent packing

Until a day, a week or so when NYR acquires a good 2c. Patience boys.

I guess you'd be happier they pick a center who doesn't have what they see in Schneider?

With the way the Devils are being managed, are we sure that's a good thing?

Yes, I personally would rather have seen them take a shot at center. Its been the Rangers weakest area for years. RHD is not weak, if anything it might the Rangers strongest area.

Dude, where did I say it was bad because he isn't NHL ready. Calm your tits.

I would have selected by need and there is no need for a right handed defenseman.

I'm allowed to have an opinion and not care for a pick. I don't have to suck Gortons hog on every pick

- mdw7413

Yes you are, but your argument doesn't hold water. If NYR sees Schneider as the best prospect on the board then it doesn't matter. Getting the need at center filled now isn't going to be solved in the draft. Plenty of trades and signings in the future. The RHD position is good now, but what about 3 or fours years from now when all of the current RHD won't probably all be here?

Believe me, I'm no attacking you, context/tone gets lost a bit in these posts

Listen, if the guy ranked 19th in the draft isn't available at 20, we will just take the guy ranked 58th. That's a sound draft strategy.
