By the way, the official results of our draft poll are in:
Ross - 6 pts
UJ - 5 pts
Jets Nation - 3 pts.
Grahamzky - 1 pt.
I guess we now know who knows hockey, and who doesn't. Or, at the very least, have bragging rights for next year. Moi? Gawd, I'm glad the Rangers too Lafrenniere!
Congrats to our winner! - grahamzky
More than happy to miss and see Rossi and Perfetti go so late. Minny and Jets are big winners here. Congrats to Ross. You might owe me a point on Perfetti although I don't know the scoring system. Does missing by one on either side count for points? |

I like the deal, some fans on line are saying too much money but common its 3 million!! the guy is worth 2.5 all day so paying 3 is A OK
but I have zero interest in Eakin, also heard rumblings he just isn't fitting in with the team or management. - Ross77
Oh I'm not crazy about Eakin either, just a gut feeling, which has been wrong before. Much rather they bring in UFA for two years at 2C, but not sure who?
I do think they re-sign Beaulier - like $1.5 for one/two years. Tough sucker, which the Jets like/need. |

Missing by one point one side or the other worth a point? Ha! I guess not! Kind of like kissing your sister! Guess we have to bow down to Ross and UJ (that does hurt) - this year! But hopefully, there's next year!
Have a six-player wish list for today, surely the Jets will nab one of them:
1 - H. Grans - RD
2. W. Wallinder - LD
3 - D. Torgesson - W
4 - T. Bordeleau - C
5 - N. Gumler - W
6. J. J. Peterka - W
Think the Jets may trade down for a late 2nd and a 4th though.

I agree about Eakin.
Also I think Jets management learned some valuable lessons from the Chiarot and Statsny affairs by offering Demelo 3mill a year and for four years. Wasn't Stastny going to sign in Winnipeg, but Vegas offered him that extra year, and same thing with Chiarot. - TheUltimateJet
Stasny may be back yet for this year??? I also think if the Rangers let Strome go we could look at him on a 1 or 2 year deal.
for some reason I just think the Hamonic signing is already done, he just can not be signed for more than Demelo!!! 2 x 2 tops!!!! he is a bottom pair depth guy at this point in his career. |

Agreed, but luckily two posters, in particular, don't know much about hockey, so just ignore them . Jets draft one of the top prospects in the draft and all they can do is be negative. Go cheer for some other team if you don't like Maurice. No need too be a troll on here.
Its hard to develop guys like Roslovic and maybe Copp at the center when there is no room to do so ( until Little went down) . It's not Maurice's fault, but if anything you might want to blame Chevy for not maybe finding the right trade for them to improve the Jets in other areas. - jetsnation
I agree ! |

I don't think I want Wallinder, but I'll add 2 Fins, Hirvonen a center and Neimla a D,
I think they trade down as well to pick up a third

I'm not sure Chevy might have got more than 3 or 4 points considering what happened after the top 3.

Demelo signed 4 years 3 mil per!!! great deal - Ross77
You guys have had a really good past 24 hours. |

I would have been equally happy with Rossi. I think you will see Rossi in the Minnesota lineup this year. Perfetti maybe a year ( I had said two earlier) away. I think Perfetti has more upside than Rossi longer term. I really think this amazing luck in getting Perfetti might change any thoughts by Chevy about trading Laine.
I want to thank Dorian ( OTT ) and especially Adams ( Buffalo) for their bad timing on picking Sanderson and Quinn . Dorian did it again later in the evening with Greig ....and what was Columbus thinking drafting Chinakhov in the first round. ?
I think the reason Perfetti and Rossi didn't go as high as they should was 100% to do with size. Where did Gaudreau and Mariner get in the playoffs the last two years? - jetsnation
Marner and Gaudreau didn't get past the first round, what's your point? |

You're such a fan boy, someone criticizes Maurice or Chevy and they're a troll?.. Lol
Copp could of been centering the 3rd line years ago, that's entirely on Maurice for not putting Lowry on the 4th line where he belongs. |

Grans is the big fish I want. Torgersson, too.
I had Hirvonen next on my list, not sure about Neimla, haven't read much about him. |

Yes but you seem happy about the drafting of Perfetti who you think was passed on cause he's on the small side then mentioned two small wingers who's teams haven't gotten past the first round of the playoffs, you seem to be contradicting yourself but maybe I'm not understanding what you're trying to get at. |

I'm just saying that they fell because some teams have that perception that you need to avoid the smaller players. I don't agree with that theory because many of the games most exciting and crafty players tend to be on the smaller size. Most larger players are just not as quick.
Kucherov is a good example of what Perfetti can become. Perfetti is 5'10 and Kucherov 5'11". At 18 yrs old he might grow another inch or so but not much more. By comparison, Copp and Scheif are a nick over 6 ft. Crosby is also 5'11. The bottom line is once Perfetti bulks up he will be more than fine.

Then why bring up two small wingers who's teams were first round exits?
Yeah I'm fine with the pick, Perfetti is roughly the same size as Point so not a big deal, do think the Jets need to get bigger up front and on defense though.
Also Scheifele is 6'3" and Copp is 6'1", both are over 200 lbs. |

If Vegas can't get rid of Fleury there's an 75% chance that happens.
Jets want an LD so they are not running out 2 rookies on that side this year so I doubt they are signing Hamonic now.
What are the odds Frolik's wife likes money more than her rumored hatred of Winnipeg and he signs a contract with the Jets?

Frolik - hope not. Is the team collecting wingers?
Hamonic - RH shot Pionk, Poolman and now Demelo under contract. I guess if the price is awfully right maybe as he is a shutdown D.
Need a top 4 big bodied miserable D man yet. The team needs a couple of players that make the game difficult for the other team, like that pr!ck Tkachuk.
Please don't sign Eakins, there was nothing that appealed during his quick stay in Wpg. Waste of time and money there. |
