There is a fine line between being nationalistic and being patriotic!

There is a fine line between making reasonable (or even unreasonable) suggestions for positive change, and explaining yourself... and being a Maurice Stan and telling people they don’t know hockey.

Perfetti falling to us at 10, and DeMelo signing for 2mil under market value makes for a perfect draft week by the Jets far.

All they need to do now is not hold on to any of our UFAs, and avoid bad players with size like Hamonic and Boro, and they will have a perfect offseason.

With Heinola already showing himself to be our most stable blueliner last season, and Samberg being all but promised a spot in the lineup... we might actually get the youth movement this team has been desperately needing since 2017-18.

(Or they can do none of that, re-sign or find new AHL defenceman to play over the kids like last year, and miss the playoffs again with a broken offence/defence/transition game)

What is a Maurice Stan?
Supposed to be a Maurice fan?

If Vegas can't get rid of Fleury there's an 75% chance that happens.

Jets want an LD so they are not running out 2 rookies on that side this year so I doubt they are signing Hamonic now.

What are the odds Frolik's wife likes money more than her rumored hatred of Winnipeg and he signs a contract with the Jets?

- BWJumper

Vegas just signed Stephenson to a
4 year-$2.75M deal and they're over the cap so something has to give there soon.

It means someone here, perhaps named after a Jets blog that would staunchly disagree with his opinions, goes to bed with a framed portrait of Maurice over his bed

I think Chevy was right to let him walk when he asked for the fourth year. Turned out Calgary had to suffer that consequence. i think the Jets could do better.

I wasn't familiar with Torgesson, what can you tell us?

The scouting reports I have read: 6'3" LW/RW Shoots L

Last season in Sweden - 39GP - 26G, 18A

Supposedly very good skater, knows where net is, competitive, physical but smart.

Sounds like a possible NHL player to me.

Rated 27th by C. Button, 30th by Elite Scouting, and 21st by Future Considerations.

Gunler was right there, but I’ll take it. A big European sniper. We’ve never had one of those.

Depending on what happens with teams up against the cap, there should be a bundle of decent players available on Friday when the UFA season starts.

"No" to our current UFA's Shore, Shaw, Letestu, Bourque, Kulikov, Sbisa, Bitetto, Griffin, Schilling. And probably "no" to C. Eakin, depending what shakes out. Probably a better option out there, so "no" to him as well.

I think the Jets re-sign Beaulieu for one/two years. $1.2-$1.5. 7th/8th d-man. We really need to see if Sandberg and Heinola are ready for the big show. Except for those two, we basically have the same team as last year, thus far. Is that good?

But regardless, there should be lots of decent players looking for jobs. Are the Jets still looking to make a major trade? I'm thinking "yes."

Yea, either one would have been a decent choice at that point.

Gunler looked great in the highlight reel but a lot reports suggest he disappears for long stretches, is lost in play without the puck and cant defend at all. time will tell but just saying Gunler is no lock for success.

See we drafted Anton Johannesson, D in the fifth rd.

5'9 - 144 lbs.

Last year 20GP - 8G-16A - gawd maybe we have another Erik Karlsson coming? Ah, hopefully, but you never know. Never saw a kid who looked more like a Pee Wee player when drafted than Karlsson, and he didn't turn out too badly. lol

Getting a clone of the best right shooting defenceman in history would be pretty nice. Especially in the 5th round lol

Agree on Gunler.

Torgersson is kinda a Joel Armia clone. I'm fine with that. Johannesson was injured a lot last season so I don't know much about him.Chevy maybe going for a sleeper type steal with him. Jets might need wider sweaters to handle all these long names.

But seriously, that kid is getting Niku’d so hard when he makes it.

Johannesson rated 31st by Central Scouting (Eurpoen skaters) so obviously not an unknown

Well, If the Bruins managed to fit Forsbacka-Karlsson on their sweater then these two should be relatively easy.

Some decent RFA'S didn't get qualifying offers, might be some more guys looking for jobs, maybe Chevy can find a dman or two from that group.

almost had me, was going to try to say something intelligent, thought better of it. Wrote something mean, listened to the little angel on my left shoulder and changed it, decided just to call it out and preserve other posters from getting sucked into this vortex.

Would love for the Jets to sign both Bobby Ryan and Kyle Turris. Both could be had for a combined 3 million and would easily form the best third line in the league.
