What team has had the best draft so far?

Worst?

Middle of the pack?

- dmarsden2988

The Leafs, of course.

Please note I'm not answering your first question.

I'm more joking than anything, but it's just always so inside the box thinking.

It's rarely just the best player available we end up with. There's always a caveat.

For the record I like the second rounder, but of course, they moved their only pick for the next few rounds to get him, and he very well could've still been there.

Remember when we moved up for Rasmus Asplund, when Carter Hart and Alex DeBRincat went within a few picks of where we were?

Did you know ahead of time that these guys would be All Stars?

Yes. Obviously I should be in the room with Adams and Pegula. This answer should save you from further responses

nope

2 clear cut players with more talent still on the board

promised us one thing heading into the draft

instead the 4 headed gm froze and used the stats on the back of a hockey card to make the pick

- homiedclown

I've called the Sabres several times telling them how great I am.

They have not taken the bait yet.

Soon though.

Plus they'd only have to pay me 250K a year.

THINKL OF THE SAVINGS.

I’m pretty sure he can be traded
If not, qualify him & keep him
Could definitely trade him at the deadline

If they pay you that in USD, you can live like a king, when you move to Ottawa!

We have an organization that prioritizes getting German players because of the coach, former Hurricane teammates of the GM's, and keeping big dumb defensemen because the owner likes him.

What isn't to love about this team?

Of course not, however, consistently taking safe players with limited upside and a lower ceiling will end up with your team behind compared to teams that constantly take players with a higher upside and a higher potential ceiling.

Why?

The chances of players from both groups panning out are the same, however, your chances of scoring on a high impact player are significantly higher when choosing from the higher upside group compared to the lower risk group.

Every player is a lottery ticket. Better to try and actually win the lottery then simply get your money back every time.

I would think that if the Sabres felt they could get a decent return for him, even a 2nd or 3rd rounder, he'd have been qualified by now.
