It’s probably a combo of trying to get signed deals done (like Tage), trades (Monte), and if nothing works drop the qualifying offer. I just hope the fax machine is plugged in!

I didn't expect that to be the outcome. Someone from the NFL Network mentioned it as a one of many possibilities in the deal agreed to before the year, and the rest of the media ran with it as "the NFL is considering" it.

It's the last thing they want to do, but it's there, I would think they would add a bye week or 2 at the end of the season before they do anything. The article said that it could mess up possible tiebreaker scenarios.

I hate to say it, but I am at the point I assume every decision they make is the wrong one, kind of like the Bills in the Jauron years. They have done nothing to earn the benefit of the doubt.
