Can’t fire the owners.

Pretty evident they are calling all of the shots

- Pegullaville

right there at the draft table, weren't they?

Will they be your new team?

I didn't complain about the Quinn pick for more then one message. Moved on, think he's going to be a really solid player.

Acknowledging that the Canes have set themselves up nicely hardly means I'm jumping ship.

But you keep doing you, as your name suggests, you are probably a Richard.

This is funny, as trying to equate two players who are good in Dillon and DeMelo to Edmundson, who is not, when making a contract comparison seems like a bad idea.

The contracts signed by Dylan DeMelo and Brenden Dillon over the last day suggest to me that Marc Bergevin read the market very well when he signed Joel Edmundson. That's a market-value contract.

This is the problem. They needed FANS at the table to overrule Adams and urge him to pick Rossi or Perfetti.

If Pegula and Adams listened to the fans, we'd have multiple Stanley Cups by now.

It wouldn't surprise me if Rossi was part of the Staal trade - "if he's there, don't take him" kind of thing.

Or not idk.

Can we get some trades now?

- jcragcrumple

That’s an immediate fireable offense.

Jeopardize the next decade of your franchise to get a year of Staal?

I sincerely hope not

Do you think your average low-brow, low-class Sabres fan from Western New York REALLY knows what went into the Staal trade? Are we REALLY going to start buying into Info Wars-esque conspiracies that Adams supposedly promised not to pick someone as a condition for getting Staal?

I really hope not. I like Staal, but like Broads just said, mortgaging the future for one year of Staal is more then shortsighted, it's just a bad move. I'd rather believe they just loved Quinn more.

Well a little heads up, if things shake out we might not be picking at 38.

No, I don’t really think that happened.

But as far as the point you are dancing around that all the fans are stupid and the Sabres obviously know better than the average fan, go check the standings for the last decade

Well if I was making the picks.

We’d have Draisatil instead of Reinhart
Sergachev instead of Nylander
Mittelstadt
Cozens
Rossi over Quinn.

So far mitts looks like a bust, and I would have taken two better players in 2014 and 2016

So yes my track record happens to be better then the people we’ve employed.

I’m not shocked though since we still employ Kevin Devine who took Risto one slot ahead of Bo Horvat. He also traded up for Girgensons and passed on the likes of Tom Wilson and Teuvo Terravinen.

Then it sounds like you should be an NHL GM. Why aren't you?

That's fine, if the player's worth it.

I would be disappointed with a Staal-esq trade. Losing 38 for a very short term fix.

The #Bills just alerted the media that their practice will be outside today.

Obvious, yet notable that there will be a practice today amidst all the COVID chaos around the NFL with the Raiders and Titans.

Anyone know if any other owners were present in their draft rooms? I guess as they own the team they can do what they want. Does that add extra pressure to the GM when the boss is staring over your shoulder? Anyway, here's hoping for the next few days to continue shaping this team for future success.

Then the fans need to take over the team, in what would be the first ever "populist movement" in sports. Why not write an editorial for the Buffalo News or The Athletic urging Pegula to sell the team to a consortium of diehard fans and give them a chance to deliver a Cup within 2 years?
