The agent sounds like they want to get a deal done.

Did you miss the part where the Sabres feared what he would get as an ARB. eligible player that's the nonsense reason they didn't qualify him? Pathetic.

Maybe erod could be a 40-45 point 2C if given the chance?

Shout out crags 😉

Odd time in the NHL. I expected a bit more movement around the draft. It seems teams are happy to get through the draft and then get to moving assets to get under the cap and do the moving and shaking. So we check off the draft and RFA deadline. Let’s get to the days leading up to UFA. Maybe a little more movement in the next couple days.... it MIGHT be interesting.

Olo. Jack. Samson
Skinner. Staal. Tage
Roustilian. Mitts. Cozens.
Asplund. Lazar. Okoposo.

Dahlin. Risto
Monte. Joker
McCabe. Monte
Miller

Ullmark
Hutton

That’s where we are post draft... that is not a playoff team. He’s still got time to move and shake...

On the other hand, we have all said that the FA market likely suffers at the middle and lower tiers.
Assuming he likes it here (a big IF, no doubt) , AND they have reasonable expectations they can sign him, then they take away a negotiating tool from the.
Again, this assumes they are pretty confident he wants to resign here and won't walk.

Could be.

Right or wrong, I think people are really scared of losing in arbitration. But if that happened couldn't we just walk away like we did with Tim Kennedy? I thought there was a scenario where you were bound to the player.

Do you always see sh!t as glass half empty? Lmao.

"We believe we might find a solution" sounds promising to me.

And "Buffalo was a great option for him".

They didn't say, "we're going to see what else is out there"

- Powerslave

Was, past tense.....not is a great option

Dude you realize that this is the same management team that chose Quinn over Rossi right ?

Kahun has good metrics and could have been a value contract but it’s more important to have 18 RHD.

What analytics we are using I have no idea.

- Pegullaville

They chose Quinn over Rossi? Really? why don't you tell us this one more time. Or better, yet, let's see where each of them end up in about 3 years. I would LOVE to see your posting on whatever Denver Bronco board you're on - that would be fun.

I'd say likely - the UFA market is going to be tight for mid/low end players.
