a "generational talent" wouldn't have lasted to eight...and besides, the devils passed on him too and you just don't pass up a "generational talent" under any circumstances |

Not that I agree with Quinn over Rossi but Rossi isn't a generational talent, high end yes - Leninthebuff
I was being sarcastic
Quinn will be good, like other prospects it all depends how they develop
I thought the devil's were going to take Rossi but went with holtz |

4 teams passed on Rossi.
He should not have been there for Buffalo to pick in the first place |

I'd say likely - the UFA market is going to be tight for mid/low end players. - turbo044
This is a good point. Many teams are trying to dump salary now and not take on expensive third line salaries. On a good team, he is a 3rd liner, bad team he might be able to play second.
The Sabres didn't want to risk what arbitration would award him and have taken a risk during this time of teams cutting salary. We'll see how it works out. I'm more disappointed we are still waiting for an impact move.

Duclair has decided to represent himself....two sides could not agree on an extension.

Well they better swing for the fences then in UFA or in the trade market. |

I’m guessing there is an offer on the table or in the works for Kahun so they did not want to insult him with the one year league min qualifying offer |

Must be something on Rossi and Perfetti the scouts are not seeing. Size, soft? I don’t know, but for 8 teams scouts to pass there is something off. |

i'm wondering what the qualifying offer would have been...
he signed a 2yr./$7.550M deal with $2.850M in performance bonuses...do they go off of the base salary or the total AAV? |

That's what I was wondering, cause his AAV is 3.7mill, probably smart they didn't want to go to Arb. If it is AAV. |

BUF is going to have some options. Toffoli for a top 6 spot. maybe a guy like Abdelkader, Duclair for the 4th line.. |
