Kahun is good. End of story.

It doesn’t matter what Pittsburgh did. These anecdotes that he was traded therefore is worthless are ridiculous.

He’s good. He’s cheap. Keep him.

A team can't be stacked with midgets when they have an internal budget. They have to be choosey in who they go after and the price they want to sign certain players.

pissed off

I really want the yacht to hit an iceberg or they sell the team

I am embarrassed to be a sabres fan right now

the bankrupt years were more enjoyable

draft day is suppose to be fun, exciting and hope and this cheap move solidifies they have no clue how to run the sabres

and if there was going to be a signing, probably would have heard of one by now

- homiedclown

Totally understand. I'm a little more optimistic, think they can get something done. Will probably be right there with you if he signs somewhere else. Give him and Pilut a chance and I think we'd be pleasantly surprised.

They’re the 2nd worse run franchise in the NHL and closer to worst than 3rd.

I think most would rather have let Montour walk, as he hasn't even been able to hold down a position (played RD, LD, and even F at times) and hasn't done those particularly well. And will cost more then DK. Or maybe I'm alone in that. If they let him actually walk, it's not a good move, even if some think he's just a good 3rd liner.

Kahun is a quality 3rd line player who can play up on the 2nd line in spot duty when needed.
- kingcong39

I respect your opinion, I just dont see being this upset over a guy that probably staying for less?

If another team pays him more, I'd be surprised.

Where is kahun gonna get this ice time ?

Opinions are like a$$holes . Everyone has one.

For once the Sabres make a sound fiscal decision and everyone is crying for days.

We have other potential, small , non gritty wingers in my opinion.

He wasn't cheap by the way, that's why they avoided arbitration.

You're acting like we let danny briere go.

Dude played 6 games for the Sabres.
They will probably sign him for cheap, when nobody else wants him

- Boss34

They signed Tage to a 3 year deal. Is Tage gritty all of a sudden?

Also, 5'11 is now small?

I agree with Homie. This is starting to feel like the rams last few years in St. Louis. You know you’re selling/moving so liquidate your assets and control spending

Tage would kill kahun, in a "tough off"

I would take tall tage for 1/2 to 2/3 discount on kahuna contract.

1.4

Arbitration would have given kahuna 3.5 possibly?

All of these teams are at least making efforts to get better quickly. We do not seem to be doing that. We’ve added Staal, who will be 37. That’s it. I’m still waiting to jump off the bridge until Monday, but I don’t see us making a splash in the UFA market at all and we will do what we always do, hold our too long on making a deal for Risto ect, and the teams who may have dealt will now have full rosters. Sabres 101 over the past several years

This is a "Sam lite" argument.

The sammers love kahun.

The posters that played hockey, realize that we have been pushed around for the last decade and need to become more difficult to play agaisnt.

Kahun isnt scaring anyone , neither is sam

The coach likes gritty and sandpaper, doesnt seem like ralph is interested in overpaying a small dude

Girgs 12 goals 7 assists for 19 points in 2020.

Playing under 14 minutes and with okposo/ larrson on a non 24 playoff team.

31 points is great, he's definitely a fan favorite now.

Doesn't anyone else care about physical play and not being a bunch of p*issues?

Check out how Tampa won. They added grit to get over the hump

Under Housley (when the trade was made) I think Montour would have done just fine. He played the same as Housley wanted the team to. But yeah, looks that way.

Edmonton is Buffalo (Canadian) version

Sign here, play with mceichel.
Although Edmonton has leon to dangle as well.

Kucherov recorded the 3rd most amount of assists in a single playoff year in all of NHL history behind only Gretzky and Lemieux.

Brayden Point and Victor Hedman could have easily have shared the Conm Smythe despite Kucherovs efforts.

Vasilesky crippled them last year, and this year made more saves above expected and was great.

It is important to have size. Coleman, Goodrow, Paquette all played their own specific roles in that Cup Win.

Tampa won the cup because their best players played lights out.

Is it important for the Sabres to add size to the lineup ? Absolutely.

However using that as the basis to let a productive role player walk for nothing doesn’t do it for me.

For those few posters hammering on the it will be his 4th team in 138 games...he was an undrafted free agent signing. We all know teams are more likely to give players they drafted more time in their organization.

Fact remains he’s out produced most players drafted when he was drafted eligible.
