I'm stating the facts that this will be his 4th team, if he signs with another team, in 138 games that isn't a judgment that is a fact against everyone else's subjective overblown assessment.
- GilPerreault11

And like I mentioned he was signed as an undrafted free agent.

Teams generally think of them as an afterthought.

He is out producing most of the players drafted

Sign and trade Kahun, rights to Montour, Ullmark, 2021 1st to Detroit for Larkin

Sign in FA:
- Sign top 6 rw
- 3rd line lw
- Goalie

If season goes tits up move Eichel for a reset button and sell the team to now owner.

Adams has 0 experience and no professional organizational help. He’s a clueless mouthpiece with no one to guide him. This decision is example a.

So should we not make a pitch for Toffoli then because he’ll be on his third team in the past calendar year ?

How many teams has Patrick Maroon been on in the last 5 years ?

Kahun was used to acquire Oli Maata as the Blackhawks had a deficiency on the back end.

Kahun was then traded to us because for some reason GMJR felt that Sheary coupe recapture the magic with Crosby and that Erod could play in the bottom 6.

He’s a good player, the analytics that we apparently use reflect that.

How are any of his raw numbers subjective?

He is a 15-20 goal guy who plays two ways.

In what world are the Sabres in a position to walk away from that?

His even strength points per 60, which is a big metric, had him at 2.56, which ranked him tied for 25th out of all forwards in the NHL last year.

Who was he tied with? Elias Pettersson and Jonathan Huberdeau.

Pretty good company to keep.

He also wasn't getting some large ARB award when his best comparable was Kerfoot who makes $3.5M.

Most other comparables for Kahun were under $3M or even under $2M.

- kingcong39

Not sure what the other comparables were that justified comparison to Kerfoot and others at $2-3M?

In Arb, I'm sure you as his Agent would use the Top 25 P/60 stat, comparable to Herbie, and 4 points in 6 games (0.75 ppg) as leads for higher Award
.
.
.
So how do you bring that and the $2m comparable together into the same argument.
is he a Top 25 or a 4th liner?

That's what I call unprofessional guidance.

Right now Adams is alone in an office scared poopless while Terry and Kim are trying to find an Air BnB in Tennessee

Using the last two seasons as bodies of work they could have used Scott Laughton as a comparable. Laughton got $2.3M

I believe Kahun would have gotten $2.75M possibly but not more then that, especially considering an arbitrator doesn’t live under a rock when it comes to considering the state of macroeconomic conditions everyone is facing.

It's good that they are planning on Cozens filling that role long term, but with the tenuous situation with Eichel, is it really a good idea to expect Cozens to fill a 3rd line center role in his rookie season? That does not seem like a good idea.
- kingcong39

He likely starts at 3RW for 10 - 20 games, then moves to 3C like Dach did.
in a $70- 75m budget, do they have a need this season for a 3Cc for 20 games.
That doesn't sound like a good idea either

NHL 21 comes out in a few days. So that is definitely 1st hand professional knowledge.

Toffoli is going to cost a lot for a good length of term and I'm meh

Maroon? Really? 4th line fine He'll bring the size and aggressiveness the team wants and the league is moving to, especially in the playoffs so sure for the right price for the 4th line.

You can find a few players who move from team to team but they move for a reason.

Why is it likely that Cozens will do the exact same thing Dach did?

I want them to pick up another long term center like either Strome or Danault, that way you have much less of a reliance on Cozens and there is no rush for him to develop rapidly.

I was giving examples of players whom have moved around.

David Perron moved around quite a bit too before settling back in St.Louis for his 2nd term there.

Johnathen Marchessault was an undrafted player that took a few years to work through Tampa’s farm system before settling in there and having a good year.

Florida picks him up for cheap and he does well there.

Then he gets traded along with Reilly Smith to Vegas in the expansion draft.

Corey Crawford hitting market.

Holtby
Markstrom
Smith
Greiss
Crawford
Khudobin
Talbot
Anderson
Lundqvist
Schneider
Howard

Teams that need a backup: Ducks, Oilers, Wild (starter), Blackhawks (starter), Canucks, Stars, Flames, Devils, Caps

Not including teams like Vegas looking to shed Fleury and maybe Colorado looking to shed Grubauer.

Lundqvist going to Caps, so a few of those guys may not even get a contract.

Do they move from team to team to team to team 138 games? If he leaves, that is a lot in a short amount of time, which is fine but did their fan bases lose it like this one?

They got Marchessault for $750K when they moved to an analytics based management style then when Tallon took back over they abandoned it and the rest is history.

Not saying Kahun is going to be Marchessault but he’ll be a productive player for somebody.

Perhaps ask Ratsreign what it felt like watching Marchessault, Smith, and Gallant play in the Cup final not even 12 months later.
