Not yet. But he may be in the Strome category.

Which is to see if they can trade him before the 5pm deadline?

Then it sounds like you should be an NHL GM. Why aren't you?
- RichardRoma

Because I’m not part of the gentleman’s club nor did I play the sport at a level that would allow me too.

I also felt that a finance degree would get me further then a degree in sports management and didn’t want to spend the vast majority of my 20’s and 30’s trying to work tooth and nail in low salary sports related jobs for the 10% chance I had to ever work in a job that got me close to being in the GM chair.

Just like hockey players, there are good and bad scouts. We have employed a majority of the bad ones over the years and our drafting the past 20 years indicates that.

I also happen to think we overestimate the intellectual ability of general managers. Peter Chirelli won a Stanley Cup for crying out loud. McGuire still gets interviewed for GM jobs and the guy is clueless.

The people that are in position of power are more so due to connections not because of intellectual ability.

What qualified Kevyn Adams to be an NHL GM May I ask ?

They have a poop ton of picks. Just made two top 5 picks to add to an already very good prospect pool and are going to make 3 more picks today.

They just got a cup winning goalie. Regardless of your feelings on him, he won that team a cup and he is capable of doing it again.

I can see how this plays out. Buffalo sits on their hands, good trades get mostly done. Good UFA’s all get signed quickly, Buffalo overpays for mediocrity to save face. No playoffs again, Eichel demands trade

The Penguins have acquired forward Jonathan Gruden and a 2020 second-round draft pick (52nd overall) from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Matt Murray

The owner is Oakland A's money ball owner

They will probably trade tk before a huge contract and hope for the best

He's in a category that an arb award would be too much money before UFA and the team doesn't want to overpay him so they'd rather let him walk.

Nah they will sign him.

The Pegulas are in Melnyk territory in terms of bad owners BTW.

Ottawa will be better than Buffalo in 1-3 years, IMO

Under 1.5 GAA and a .940 SV % in one cup run
2 GAA and a .923 in another.

If the Sabres want to compete for the playoffs they have to make some moves because other teams in their division and conference are already better than them and or making moves. Get with it!

I also would not have paid Mark Stone 9.5 Million a year. I agree with that move.

How's life in obscurity treating you, Matt? What did you do with the 5 year, $25 million contract that Tim Murray gave you?

Yup. Agree 100%

Time to get a top 6 winger and a goalie.
