It is important to have size. Coleman, Goodrow, Paquette all played their own specific roles in that Cup Win.

Tampa won the cup because their best players played lights out.

Is it important for the Sabres to add size to the lineup ? Absolutely.

However using that as the basis to let a productive role player walk for nothing doesn’t do it for me.

What you said here is true, except for the slight of hand to Gourde-Coleman-Goodrow...they played exceptionally well and set the tone for how the games were going to be played...along with Maroon. Y-C-G started nearly every period to get the game going...that cannot be said enough.

This is what makes the Kahun situation so strange. They need more NHL talent all over up front and Kahun seemed like a slam dunk and not expensive. If he walks it’s another guy to replace and money they’re spending anyway.

Now if you want to replace Kahun and those like him with guys all making under a million... OK - but the scouting better be on the nose.
