I agree 100%.

All we are saying collectively for the most part is Kahun is a good player that we let go for free.

I think we can all agree that it would be nice to acquire some players with some toughness that can also contribute positively in other areas as well to the teams success.

- Pegullaville

For the most part I agree.

I guess I'm just not head over heels about kahun.

Looks like the Sabres are finally being fiscally smart and now everyone is concerned.

We really have plenty of small type soft guys, but I understand what your saying.

Why let a 40 point guy go?
Hopefully we look smart by signing him for less.

If not, 4 teams in a few years hardly screams "cant let him go"

when I think the team has bottomed out with the 4 headed hydra, they sink to lower levels

I honestly think we could be much worse this coming season, at all levels

- homiedclown

Well I guess we should enjoy the last year of Jack...

There was a rumor earlier in the week and the team being secretly up for sale with a buyer already kicking tires... have you heard anything there?

Cousins and Jankowski would be nice additions to the bottom 6.

Or maybe 3 management teams aren’t all that smart, and the 4th one will reap the benefits

I tend to agree. I think Ralph likes ze German. They have until noon tomorrow until he officially hits the market... I’ll give Adams until Sunday before I line up at the bridge....

I can see where Hommie is coming from and the team is worse than last year and it can certainly go the other way and they pull a few other solid moves off and put together a solid run... the next few days will set the table, that’s for sure...

funny because the fans loved the speech from Terry when he bought the team, feeling we would be free of the golisano caps

8 years later ,we are back to 2010, without sniffing the playoffs

There has to be a trade coming.

Money out, money in to stay true to the internal cap but improve the team in some way shape and form.

Always appreciate the info. I think it’s time for the Pegula’s to sell. Let them focus on the football and development. I’m curious who’s got the cash to buy them.... it’s always interesting....

the big issue I had with botts, too many vets so there was not a spot for tage, or casey, or cozens if they were ready last fall

well there was a spot and they gave it to sobotka

borgan had a strong camp, no chance to make the team

that will not be an issue when camp opens up this time

lots of spots

hell 6k or johansson might grab a spot in net

Just the makeup of the team says a trade needs to happen! They still haven’t fixed the d at all! I like Monte overall. I don’t like Monte playing his off side. Something HAS to give!

We shall see, think we will have a new goalie, 2 new forwards by the end of the weekend.

they had one, staal for johansson

now it's let the ufa's walk

try to get kahun on the cheap, and sign a bunch of fringe nhl players this weekend

I think Navin said expect value (cheap) contracts this weekend instead of big names

And I can see sobotka being brought back for 3c.

There still isn’t room for Borgen.

I don’t mind giving Tage a shot for 2rw, but there needs to be a backup plan.

I like cozens at 3rw to start and work him around the lineup as he develops.

Mitts, I have no idea what to do with. I guess it depends on if he put the donuts down... kids got talent, but no drive...

Depending on the players though that might not be so much of a bad thing.

UFA should be used for depth.

Draft picks and trades should build up the core.

The Okposo, Leino, and Moulson signings are a testament of that.

However they still need to be active. Give me one of Craig Smith or Jesper Fast.

Give me one of Haula, Soderberg, Wennberg to handle 3C.

Trade Montour in a package for a LW now with size since we let Kahun walk.

Give me a goaltending upgrade from Carter Hutton

Yep, that's probably it.

IF kahun scores 40 points for another team, we should just fold the Sabres. I just do not get the love.

He's a decent small 3rd liner on a lower 1/3 of the league team. I'm not overpaying for that sh't. Especially after watching the nhl playoffs.

What if we sign kahun or any other player to a contract that doesnt match up we our budget?
Fiscal responsibility is important as well.

I'm guessing he re-signs for less.
Kagm maybe has seen enough small softies?
