You know I watched the Sabres promo draft video that promoted the NBCSN draft coverage and it showed Jack a lot, even Risto,a lot of Dahlin, a lot of Dylan Cozens with a bit of Sam in a suit greeting him at the draft, VO scoring and announcing his name, one real quick flash of Reinhart's name on the back of his jersey, I mean quick, they didn't focus on that #2 pick overall at all. Interesting

I was initially dissappointed in this pick, but if the argument for is "results + fit + the kid has learned he must work his ass off for everything" then I am willing to buy into that vision.

Because I’m not part of the gentleman’s club nor did I play the sport at a level that would allow me too.

I also felt that a finance degree would get me further then a degree in sports management and didn’t want to spend the vast majority of my 20’s and 30’s trying to work tooth and nail in low salary sports related jobs for the 10% chance I had to ever work in a job that got me close to being in the GM chair.

Just like hockey players, there are good and bad scouts. We have employed a majority of the bad ones over the years and our drafting the past 20 years indicates that.

I also happen to think we overestimate the intellectual ability of general managers. Peter Chirelli won a Stanley Cup for crying out loud. McGuire still gets interviewed for GM jobs and the guy is clueless.

The people that are in position of power are more so due to connections not because of intellectual ability.

What qualified Kevyn Adams to be an NHL GM May I ask ?

- Pegullaville

With a Finance degree and your innate, psychic ability to see which prospects will be stars and which ones will be busts would have made you an IDEAL GM. You could use your Finance background to manage the cap and only sign the players that you feel are truly worth the investment, rather than give Jeff Skinner an 8 year deal that he probably didn't deserve.

Bottom line, the Sabres NEED you running the team.

I also would not have paid Mark Stone 9.5 Million a year. I agree with that move.

TRADE: Predators trade Nick Bonino and picks Nos. 37 and 70 in this draft to the Wild for Luke Kunin and pick No. 101 in this draft.

From everyone lol

- Stripes77

That seems like a lot for Luke Kunin. Bonino was an ida fit. poop.

We'll see. What would you be comfortable in terms for him. Not trying to attack you, just curious.

I was too. I watched ton of YouTube highlights of Jack Quinn.

Quinn to me looks like TJ Oshie. Great shot, great hands, and good speed.

The only issue is that he did it for only 1 year.

And based on “mock drafts” they had Quinn going at 10 ish. So it’s not like we “reached”

We got the best goal scorer in the draft.

Mitts isn’t a bust yet. He still has really good value. He’s just not good enough to keep 100%.

If a team comes at you with a top 6 player and that team wants mitts included. That is fine

If we keep mitts and he plays on the Sabres and hopefully grows.

That’s fine too

The only Sabres 1000% safe are. Eichel dahlin cozens and UPL. That’s about it

Also, keep in mind he's coming off of 3.75M.. He will absolutely want a raise (which I think I've pointed out, is not warranted).
