Plus their 1st and 2nd we're not being the team to let them off the hook.

Vegas screwed over so many teams during the expansion draft, nobody will let them off lightly.

Nobody was helping Stan after 2010 and our 3rd Cup I hope he has a memory like an elephant.

Just have Stan do what’s best for the Hawks.

If it somehow helps VGK - or any other team - OK - but do what’s best for the Hawks.

Sorry all for being MIA much of today on what is a busy day for NHL offseason action. For those that remember my bio, I work at a university and have been teaching more lately so it's been time consuming during the day.

I'm sure Breadman and other teachers (K-12, college faculty, etc) who visit these boards can attest! Mad respect to those who are full time teachers or are retired ones!

What kind of trade could the hawks make with Vegas to get fleury? Just spitballing here: fleury Krebs retain 2.5 to 3 million per year to Chicago for a 4th in 2022. Base of trade proposal
- Scott1977

What is your obsession with Fleury, he's probably done that's why Vegas brought in Lehner.

Jankowski would be worth taking a look at for the right price.
- Elbows15

Sign me up for kicking the tires on Jankowski. He'd be affordable.

Jankowski is supposedly a great defensive specialist who can play center and wing. Decent at the dot and uses his size well. Great bottom 6 option.

FWIW, this from the committedindians site....

The deadline to extend qualifying offers to restricted free agents was at 4:00 PM CST on Wednesday.

They Blackhawks are one of few teams that do not make these decisions public, so we have to piece it together through various media outlets and sources. Here’s what we’ve been able to gather thus far:

Dominik Kubalik – qualified
Dylan Strome – qualified
Slater Koekkoek – not qualified
Malcolm Subban – not qualified
Joni Tuulola – not qualified
Drake Cagguila – ??

On the HB homepage that listed trades, one of them reads "Vegas being held hostage" in regard to their attempt to deal MAF.

Brought a smile to my face.

I'll do better and be like the students by pretending to be paying attention in the Zoom class but be shopping or checking out sports scores instead. I can see their eyes diverting!

Or I catch my 5th grader at home watching YouTube videos instead of paying attention to the lesson on long division or geography.

I can’t wait to hear from Theo & Wiz and others on the Hawks draft picks. I just felt a bit underwhelmed with the picks (after round 2). Last year I felt like they got a few gems late in the draft.

I know it’s all looking back now and I’m not “on the clock”....but I think I would have drafted:

3rd Jurmo
3rd Sourdif
4th Chromiak
5th Dufour
6th McClennon
7th Whoever that Svedberg II clone that they ended up drafting as a project Dman.

Maybe I’m more biased to the Canadian developmental leagues and the European leagues than USHL or US High School programs. I’ll hope we drafted well with our picks and see in 2-3 years how they’re progressing.

I think it's more an obsession with trades. I get you're a fan and are trying to cobble together a better team Scott; but, I'd prefer to see what some of the youth can provide.

Just me though.

Per the Blackhawks website, Fortin is also an RFA, but it seemed pretty certain he won't be back. Not sure they could even find him a spot given all the guys they already have there.

Well Stan taking Commesso in the 2nd not really his MO illustrates to me he understands the goalie pipeline is more then dry it is parched .I also believe this shows Stan would have chosen Askarov at 10 if he had the chance .That little flirtation with playoff hockey probably cost us the best goalie for the next 13 years .I hope our young players grab a huge amount of playoff experience from that tournament .
Askarov will haunt the Hawks for years to come in two was A. Playing without him .B Playing against him a lot .

The Sun Times has a picture of a Blackhawks Reichel jersey with the number 20 .... Just saying, probably his old number.
- rpeters01

The year he was drafted. 2020. They do it every year with every first round pick.

The (frank) is Buffalo doing? Look, Kahun isn't must have or anything but the guy is a useful middle 6 forward.
- Elbows15

I bet they go after some Tampa players. By trade most likely. None of them would sign offer sheets to Buffalo
