Would be a good partner for Murphy imo

Both right handed, no room for him, will block Mitchell.

Tyler Seguin sustained a torn labrum in his hip during the postseason, GM Jim Nill says.

He is exploring options for possible surgery, which could carry a recovery time of four months.

Everyone said he must be hiding an injury based on his play in the playoffs. Ouch

There are too many variables that go into a player's buyout numbers for me to understand it completely so I just go to CapFriendy and look at the numbers and say 'OK'. Having done that with Zach Smith - I don't see a downside of buying him out. It doesn't appear it will cost Rocky more "real dollars" and it reduces the cap in 2021 by $2M while increasing the cap in 2022 by $1M. Is that it? Would they rather have a cap hit of $3M in 2021 and $0 in 2022 than a cap hit of $1M in both 2021 and 2022?

Am I missing something on this?

As I said earlier this morning, what the GM is doing either in trades, buyouts, etc. may seem dumbfounded. Maybe Stan is working with an internal cap, or some other constraint that we do not know about. The Hawks are not even close to the maximum # of players you can have under contract

I just looked, wow, in 2 years the Hawks have currently only 5 nonELC players signed, Kane, Toews, DeBrinkat, Seabrook and Keith

Many of the undrafted are probably guys like Panarin?
- rpeters01

Wiz might know, but I'd think they'd be a lot of guys from OHL, WHL & QMJHL.

Just my opinon obviously but pretty similar to last year. Where does Nylander fit in? You know the Hawks are going to give him every opportunity again to succeed but at who's expense?

Don't believe this at all:

Mark Lazerus @MarkLazerus

Stan Bowman says the Blackhawks believe in Delia and Lankinen: "The message to Corey and everybody else is we've got some young goaltenders here in Chicago that we believe in." Equates it to Crawford in needing that opportunity 2010-11

Zack Smith was not a buyout candidate for the Blackhawks because he was on long-term injured reserve, according to multiple sources. The buyout window closed at 11 a.m. CT on Thursday.

Based on that, my guess is he finishes his career on LTIR. Can't see him being deemed "fit to play" in 2 months.

I guess Stan wasn't fibbing when he said they are looking at younger players to take over.

Perfect fit with the Canes.

Easily the best goalie on the market now.

Meh, lets him sign with someone and try to win another cup, probably doing him a favor.

I know it wasn't in any of the qutoes, but its always about money, at least one way or another.

So, maybe Stan has a deal with Vegas for MAF plus sweeteners??

Or maybe he's decided he's going after Markstrom, and needs the money.

He really would be. Short term deal. Solid defense to play behind. Instantly makes them better. Yeah, he'd be a great fit if we can move out one of Mrazek or Reimer.

Bowman: "Now that we've made the decision the way that we're going to move forward [with youth], there's going to be a lot more things that we're going to talk about over the coming days as far as planning next year's team."

Sounds like other veterans could also be traded. Full blown rebuild?

No surprised... I was fully expecting the 20/21 goaltending situation to be a combo of Subban, Delia and Lankinen.

I'll miss Crawford, he's still one of my all-time favorites.
