My money is on Nico Dawes if that is the case.

That’s what I was thinking and meant to ask Wiz about him yesterday cause I was too lazy to go over to Draft site.

The team has familiarity with him.

Dufour is who I want at 46 not a goalie reach just yet.

Jan Bednar and Joel Blomqvist are the goalies I have as #2 and #3 overall

Why the hell do they have a time limit to make a pick if no one follows it????

I don't like him; there is nothing that points to any further growth...no twitch, there are Sio many better players on my board at forward even at dee...

and Detroit MAY go goalie right here too.

Jokijarju, we know what happened there, Schmaltz, meh wouldn't want that contract now and that was what Stan was facing, I thought Regula came for Perlini? Hartman was in Q's dog house a late 1st pick, Teravainian is a dead horse, McNeil a bust, Danault Stan was going for it with Q, Hayes, which one? Looks like pretty good drafting to me and there's a reason for every trade... It is what it is.
- rpeters01

Yes, but my recollection was Perlini came from ARI with Strome, and was then flipped later for Regula. Don't have my original notes.

Reichel is the goods Late riser, elite hockey sense, great commitment to attacking the hard areas, and his game is the kind that'll benefit exponentially from the improved physical strength that he'll gain after his relatively recent growth spurt. Also, that German work ethic!
- MaximumBone

Thanks for the comments on Reichel! What you shared is spot on with what I've read up and viewed on him.

Not saying he'll hit this comparable as far as impact and stats but the Elias Pettersson self-comparable he gave himself may not be too far off given his skillset. Again, comparable means style so at least there's that, i.e. fun to watch.

Someone else on the boards in the last blog mentioned that they see a Marian Hossa comparable, too. I can see that given his excellent 3-zone play, industriousness in the tough areas, and high motor to forecheck and backcheck equally well.

Drew Commesso

USA National Development Team goalie with good size, technique and focus. Squares up on shooters and doesn’t over commit. Using his pads he absorbs and keeps the rebounds to a minimum, and stops almost all first shots, working hard to see over and around traffic, and angles shots to the corners. Concentrates and stay in games, even when his end is quiet. There is lots to like in his upside. Was the Central Scouting Services 2nd ranked North American net minder.Has committed to Boston University.

Well, can’t be real mad....drafted a need. If he is as good as 2nd rounder Corey Crawford, I’ll be extremely happy.

I was right.
Transactions

November 25, 2018: Traded to Chicago by Arizona with Dylan Strome for Nick Schmaltz.

October 28, 2019: Traded to Detroit by Chicago for Alec Regula.
So, effectively the ARI trade ended up being Schmaltz for Strome & Regula.

That’s way too much work. But I would enjoy Theo doing a deep dive into Stan’s draft success, compared with league average.
- scottak

I'll see what I can do to do a drafting comparison. GPS is correct, though, that there was a recent blog post by someone on these boards that did what you are asking and I believe there was an article as well on another site. I don't want to copy their work so I'll find another angle.

Wasn't he a late pick the same year they drafted Leighton? Seem to remember two goalies being picked that year...or maybe Leighton and Anderson were the same year.
