He could get awarded more in arbitration which will likely force the Rangers to walk away. If he is awarded less than 4.538mil the Rangers have to sign him and apparently can't trade him for a year. They may not want to pay that money right now.

I actually am fine with Strome as the 2C, short term. Do I think he's the answer? Definitely not, but there's no sense in moving on from him if there isn't a significant upgrade available.

Yea I am only going one year deal with him, and that's only if no upgrade is coming via trade. I want no part of him long term. Re asses next offseason if nothing happens this one.
