Our 4th line now consists of 1.225 aav in motte and 850 aav (or whatever) in macewen(1 way). This is the direction we should be going for our 4th line. 1.225 aav for a good 4th liner and a good penalty killer is pretty good in my mind? - Codes1087
For sure.

Let's hope that's true, I always felt Demko was the future. That said, i think the writing is on the wall that we will end the day being a fundamentally weaker team. - Whiskey-Tango
I think a lot of teams will. Like most other teams, we will rely on ELC players making an impact. |

The Vancouver Canucks have re-signed free agent forward Tyler Motte to a new two-year deal. Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports that the deal is worth a total of $2.45MM ($1.225MM AAV). The young forward will earn $1MM in 2020-21 and $1.45MM in 2021-22.

More than $975 000. |

I like Motte but totally unneccessary value. - belcherbd
2 years @ $1.25M per is what I saw reported. You see that as unnecessarily high? |

A $4-5M 4th line is how we should be allocating our cap space. |

Statistically the best penalty killer on the team and it's not close. He was stellar this year. |

it's painful, but trying to ignore and listen to the panel. |

tbh, the signings the canucks have made thus far have been fantastic. As long as they dont commit big term/$ to any free agents, I think most will be happy. |

On JV and arbitration. He probably gets signed before that, but JB could be using that to get a second buyout window after FA and trying to offload contracts. |

I could see Barrie taking a 1 or 2 year deal like Hall. He had a down year last year and could look to bet on himself. |
