Do you regret saying the same thing about the Lou Eriksson contract as well?

sorry but don't know what happened everything froze and then see multiple hits on same post. Wasn't intentional. Must be a glitch in the system.

He's faking it. Just wait until Holtby's first loss.

Plus if we lose Holtby to the expansion draft Lefty can go on and on and on about how well the Kraken drafted...

He commented willing for a 1yr show me deal. He will be cheap wherever he goes I won’t be surprised if something close.

I just got in from walking the dog and missed all the action, Jesus, this is a good deal by Jim Benning, I like the fact that he is seemingly becoming a better GM and having a better long-term thought process. Good on him for not blowing his load this year.

I never wanted them to sign Markstrom to a long-term deal because of his age and because he’s only been a really good goaltender the past couple years, again, good restraint and deal by Jim Benning.

You said that to look at his career numbers. Figured you had said the same thing when they signed LE then

Holtby hasn't been as good since winning a cup and Barry Trotz left who does a remarkable job of getting his teams to play solid defence.

I don't think TG and Baumy are the greatest at getting the team to play team defence without just all huddling in front of the net.

Clearly just not finding the silver lining in the signing. I don't have a problem with Holtby or even the term but it feels like 800K too much to which that 800K could possibly be needed to sign someone more important than a back up goalie.

If 800k per year for 2 years is the fee for a cup winning, former vezina winner goalie who doesn't need protection, I pay that without even hesitating.

I’d prefer a small shave but it’s a good deal for only 2yrs. MDP will be ready then.

It is better than talbot at 3 for 11. The two year deal is great. Always prefer cheaper but it works.

Holtby was the only goalie in that tier who was willing to sign for short term without protection from expansion.

Totally different scenario from Eriksson, who was expected to be a 1st line forward and produce a ton of offense when he signed.

Holtby was signed to play 30-40 games and mentor Demko as he goes through growing pains as a starter. There wasn't a better candidate for that role on the market, and this signing is low-risk.
