I imagine there will be quite a few goalie options for Seattle and he gets passed on. - boonerbuck
Buyout of Holtby's 2nd year isn't too bad from a cap perspective. $500K in 2021-22 and $1.9 in 2022-23. |

So consider this...
Our D gave up the 4th most shots per game.
Influx of prospects will probably happen but hurt this by how much or is it nowhere to go but up?

Walked away from Demko in the OEL deal
Walked away from Marky long term and signed Holtby for 2 years
Just don’t sign Barrie! |

the cost is sunk now but man is it hard to reshape the roster with so many immoveable plugs tying up cap space and roster spots |

Tanev is getting signed. Plus if they don't spend on TT you will see more D added. - NuckUp
I’d OS Cernak whether ppl think they happen or not. This year is prime to see one. |

Our passive D zone system asks our goalies to face a higher volume of relatively low danger shots. They want it that way. Very important to limit deflections and control rebounds. |

I’d be okay with him on a shorty, two year deal. |

1/2m I honestly think is an outside chance.

Idc if we don’t sign him either.

Damn... I usually agree with everything you post, but I think Barrie is a perfect buy low who could actually thrive on a 2nd pairing with Rathbone. Rathbone was a perfect partner for Adam Fox... Allowing Barrie be a little bit more reckless could make him a high high value signing if played with the right partner. |

Yup.... imagine if we could spend it on actual good players, we'd be a contender.... and someone said it would never be an issue.... |

Yes & all good til hemmed in on long shifts. We didn’t have much choice & it cost us puck possession but we were pretty lethal if we maintained composure & skated & drew penalties. |

Totally disagree. IMO Hughes is a HOF player on the left side. You don’t put him anywhere but where his potential is it’s highest - especially if the reason for doing so is to accommodate plugs that you overpaid. - DrChristianTroy
You play Hughes to his strength at this point of his career.
I get a feeling that Tanev is coming back anyways.

I think he’s a poor defender. He needs to be sheltered to be effective.
Would rather have Tanev back for less dollars and term. From what I’ve read, Barrie is looking for term and dollars, he’s looking for financial security. |

I think Holtby has a resurgence under Ian Clark and can help shoulder the load. He’s only a year older than Marky.
Edit: 3.5 months older |
