I wonder if those numbers include the bonuses/overages? Virtanen very well could be the top 6 player unfortunately.

I assume we will be over the limit until they know what is happening with Ferland.

that's not the way things are done around here. you're supposed to defend to the death that the deal is great. that's the only way the flames would ever get a goaltender. make no mention of the long term consequences. as long as you guys are cap compliant, there will never be cap issues.

....and if things get rough, just point out some of the really ridiculous contracts that other gm's have given out.

If they are going to pay JV that much then they are playing him in top 6 so this is misleading by far and the numbers are off too because of all the other moves to remove cap that aren't on the books right now.

No one knew that Demko would step up this year or that the Canucks would have this success. Without Demko stepping up, Canucks would of caved, if Nucks don't over achieve, Markstrom doesn't get the same value.

agreed. i think if they had moved marky last year wed have brought in a big goalie contract by now similar to the ryan miller deal.

It 100% is negative value. Nutivarra is way better and only makes a bit more and got traded for nothing. Matt Benning is comparable and got less as a UFA.

Benn was healthy scratched a lot last year, even in favour of Fantenberg, pro scouts noticed that lol
