Pagnotta - Barrie has a few teams chasing him. Canucks, Edmonton, Flordia. He has options. Most of the offers are shorter term.

So it sounds like Tanev, Krug & Barrie on the Canucks list.

RW looks weak as (frank) minus Toffoli/Virtanen. If they trade Virtanen then I’d hope they don’t overpay a UFA winger

So far, I’m happy to see JB hasn’t blown all the cap on UFA signings and extended Zack and Motte at reasonable salaries.

Right now the team is weaker than it ended last season.
* Holtby < Markstrom (but — I think this is a good signing & bet on Demko)
* JV < Toffoli as a top 6RW (JB doesn’t have the cap to re-sign Tyler)
* Benn < Stecher (but — Troy wasn’t the answer anyway)
* ?? < Tanev (so far..though I think they reach a deal to keep him)

If Van is a desirable place to play these days then he should take advantage of that. If he was the Oilers GM then always offering more term or dollars makes way more sense.

This is going to sound mental but I believe MacEwen has power forward complimentary top 6 upside. Moreso than JV.

Agreed. Team is more desirable to play for and the market is deflated. JB should have more leverage when dealing with free agents.
