I think Ladd will be headed to Lou’s Robidas Island imho. Also this threads favorite Komarov may have to be bought out. I know this would be tough to swallow for you all.
Also the RFA’s and UFA’s will need to realize the effect of Covid and either take 1, 2, 3, year deals and wait for better days to cash in on a long term deal. Salaries are not the same as they were last year and they better realize it sooner rather than later. Sucks but it’s the reality. - nyisles7
Let's hope the players realize it especially the Isles RFA's. Josh Anderson getting 7 years does not help things. GM's have more leverage these next few years and some are still doing this.
Not even sure how we sign Barzal, Pulock and Toews within current roster constraints? What team can take on salary??
We have too many contracts that are not tradable. I don’t mind Boychuk as he’s been a great Islander and at least contributes (plus he and Leddy were great early on when we needed them), but who in their right mind takes on Ladd right now!? Or a couple others? - TogaIsles
Garth really hurt this team especially with the 4th line contracts. The more you spend on bottom 6 the less you have for the top 6.

Take this for what it's worth but...
hearing one option #Isles may be considering is trying to move Semyon Varlamov and then re-signing Thomas Greiss to pair with Ilya Sorokin.
Again, nothing concrete. But got nothing else for you right now.

The Islanders have kept lines of communication open with Brassard, Greene & Martin. Hearing they've also kicked tires on UFAs Dadonov & Namestnikov, among others. Problem for NYI is they've been unable to unload salary, as they also have RFAs Barzal, Pulock & Toews to sign. - ses111
Dadonov would be a nice add to upgrade on the wing.

Khudobin just signed at 3.3 for 3 years. That’s lower than you would have expect imho.
What I find odd about the rumors circling the Islanders is that they are looking to trade their goaltender and potentially sign more defenseman.
The focus should be moving large crappy contracts and bringing in scoring !!! - Nfdbulldawg
It’s Eklund who knows absolutely nothing about this team fabricating nonsense. They’re not rumors with any substance there’s really nothing odd about it

it's really not that hard. Isles lost because they could not get a goal when really needed it like in the OT in game 6. They do not have a goalie or defense issue.

#Isles Lou Lamoriello on prospect Kieffer Bellows and AHL announcement of violation of performance enhancing program: "In response to the American Hockey League announcement regarding Kieffer Bellows, we will let their statement speak for itself and have no further comment." - ses111
Well now that makes more sense why he is not in their long term plans.

Didn't I say I really was hoping they would be able to move Varly for something good and keep Greiss a few weeks ago? This would make me very happy.. unless Sorokin somehow is a bust.

I was always happy being able to keep Greiss and moving Varly if possible. If Sorokin is the real deal, Greiss is a great backup and Sorokin would not be a backup for long even with Varly. Looks like it's going to be real tough to move money though. No idea how true but EK has Greiss to the Oilers. Right now the Isles are in a very tight spot to be able to get the offense that can put them over the top.
