That was a strange move mdw. - ses111
Like someone said, its basically a glorified PTO. I think they wanted a vet after Staal was traded and didn't want to go anything more than a year. Really its so insignificant. I was surprised people even got upset about it |

If we signed Johnson for one year we would as a whole be upset as we should be |

Obviously there is no need for you guys to do that, but I still see nothing wrong with 1 year deals where its cheap and you don't have to play the person if they are playing like poop |

I think the question is why sign them to begin with when you know they’re going to play like poop? I can’t find any reason why Gorton signed Johnson he’s terrrible and has been for a very long time. Maybe I’m missing something but if I we did that I would be blasting Lameriello not defending the move. |

Any chance to sign Tyler Johnson for a year? - ses111
Being that he has an existing contract that may prove to be tough. |

Per Ryan Rishaug of TSN:
Barrie says coming out of Toronto is tough, the media can be tough and the fans. says he loves the way Edmonton plays, fast and driving teams back. Thinks the speed Edmonton has fits great with his style.
From me:
I wonder if they’ll boo him after this comment? 😆😆 |

I'm not defending it, to me its a non issue. I'm guessing the thinking behind it is with Staal gone there is no veteran presence. If he plays well its a win, if he doesn't, who gives a poop.lol
Then again, you guys can make a mountain out of mole hill here. |

It’s like playing for the Yankees minus all the championships. Or a playoff series. 😁😁 |

OK, Staple says Pulock, Toews and HoSang rejected QO and are going to arbitration. It means they can't sign an offer sheet. Does it mean they are coming back to Islanders on 1 year deals, based on what the arbitrator rules? |

I think it’s hysterical that Ho Sang rejected anything. He should be rejected. Obviously Lameriello is looking at him as cheap offense which we need right now but I’d rather go with what we have then ever see this arse clown in an islanders jersey ever again. |

It give the Islanders flexibility. I think with Pulock and Toews they both know that they are worth more as the Isles do. They can get a solid one year deal against the cap and get their long term deals next when more players come off the books.
In the case of HO Sang. One only knows what this guy is being told. I think that one of the reasons Lou is holding on to him is for the expansion draft. Seattle may take a run at him. As he would be a low risk potentially high reward.

Yup, I think that sums it up. This only happens because Bridgeport isn't filled with high end talent at forward. As Bulldawg said, it's low risk, because he's not taking up cap space. And there's always the possibility, however unlikely, that he's just a slow learner and eventually figures things out. |

Would have liked to have some better forward prospects at Bridge at this point. It's a real mess in Bridge with very little help and it really hurts when the Cap is a big issue. I'm not sure if it makes sense to try JHS with Pageau or maybe Wahlstrom with Pageau if he is ready? |
