And Murray was a failed top 4 D. He was an ok 3rd pairing guy making 4.6 in the last year of deal. He wasn't worth much.

We have guys that have (and some prefer) to play the right side that are lhd. Dallas just went to the cup final with 4 of their 6 as lhd. I think this is overblown.

I would be hesitant bringing in a free agent who has played his entire career on the left side and then shifting him to the right.

If he's got mileage on both sides, cool. But I'm not going to trust some dude just saying "yeah, I can play RHD" without any experience because he wants bank.

David Savard is exactly what this Leafs team needs right now. He's reliable in his own zone - actually defends well. He is a good PK'er. He blocks shots and hits.
He's a RH version of Jack Muzzin but skates way better.
Would be a much better fit to play with Rielly than AP.
I would love for Leafs to trade for him - going to cost more than a 5th though..
