Jets should be on the phone with Ottawa!! they need bodies, include any of Stanley, Niku or even Roslovic with Perreault and try and get a prospect out of them. open up some more space while getting a decent forward prospect ( they have about 10 and cant play them all ) |

I am trying to do better too. With the world filled with so much bigotry and hatred these days. I try to keep things as light as possible here on hockeybuzz.
That still does not mean that I cannot be critical of my team. |

This I agree with. They should trade Perreault with a 5th round pick for future considerations. |

With the signing of Stastny that makes Roslovic a 4th line player. Any of his fans on this site want to make new predictions on his point totals? - BWJumper
Won't Roslovic be the right wing on the line where offense goes to die? |

Turris for 1.65, so both he and Bobby Ryan both signed for a combined 2.65?
Both could have been on the Jets third line. And both would have cost us nothing! I actually had both coming in at 3 million.
Great deals for both Detroit and Edmonton! - TheUltimateJet
Think that Turris signing is going to be great for Edmonton.

anyone feeling bad today, just remember this, the Rangers, on DAY 1 of free agency signed both Jack Johnson AND Anthony Bitteto!!!!!!!!!!! |

The Jets have had a core of five players on the team for the last 2-3 years who were all drafted outside the first round. Copp, Appleton, Helle, Lowry, Poolman , and now Harkins. It's significant enough when its 1/4 of the roster. - jetsnation
LOL, other then Helly those guys are replacement level players, the Jets drafting past round one has been really underwhelming.
Always think it's funny when the likes of Lowry, Copp, Appleton, etc are brought up as some big later round finds, you could literally trade a similar round pick to a team and get one of those players or pick a similar player off the waiver wire, they're really nothing special.
Hopefully Harkins takes a step and Samberg is as good as the hype he's getting which will improve the Jets round 2 draft record but as of now saying the Jets are any better at drafting then any other team isn't really true. |

Super happy Jack Johnson found another payday!!
Super happy TonyBitts is gonna be playing close to home and wearing the red, white and blue of the New York Rangers and not the red, white and blue of the Winnipeg Jets!!! |

You think he takes Perreault's spot?
Ross and I agree on dumping Perreault's contract, but the Jets will never do that. So it's 6 minutes a game for Roslovic until an injury happens.

As Jets stand now....
Connor - Scheif - Wheeler
Ehlers - Statsny - Laine
Copp- Lowry- Roslovic
Perreault/Vesalainen - Harkins/Gustafsson - Appleton
Morrisey - DeMelo
Beaulieu - Pionk
Heinola/Sanberg - Poolman /Niku
Looking at this lineup. The only real hole I see here is that 2nd line LHD that can quarterback the PP. Historically the Jets quarterback it from the RHD but the hole here is obviously LDH. This is why I'm so high on getting Krug. He fills that spot perfectly and also adds a lot of muscle. I'n not sure if we have enough cap remaining but if so he is the guy we want. Beyond that, we need to be able to give ice time to those young guys listed on the fourth line so I don't see any further additions to the forwards. Its Krug ( or Petriangelo ) or nothing for me. |

Perreault is an expensive luxury but at the trade deadline he is an excellent pickup for a team making a push. Not a popular opinion but it makes the most sense to keep him unless and until the return makes sense. He plays a committed game, gets under opponents skin (a skill lacking on the jets) and aside from injuries is a low maintenance veteran. |

He's a Jets, once he puts on the uniform he instantaneously becomes better than any other player in the NHL. Can't believe you are so down on him!

"Perreault is an expensive luxury " - 2.0
For sure. At $4.125 he's got to be one of the most expensive 4th liners in the league for the last few years. No one wants him even at half that price. He is serviceable to work his way up and down the lineup when needed, but when you guys all complain about not giving young players ice time, you should look at guys like him as the culprits. |

Copp and Scheifle probably called their friend Trouba and told him that Bitteto was funny. Trouba probably asked Rangers management to sign him to lighten up the room in New York! |
