Rumor with legs that Saad is being traded to the Avs with Zadorov as one of the pieces coming back.
@FriedgeHNIC
Sounds like something coming down with CHI/COL....not sure of all parts, but Saad/Zadorov believed to be involved.

Nikita Zadorov's agent has just tweeted his client has been traded to the Blackhawks with the idea Brandon Saad will be the returning piece for the #Avs. - Theo Fox

Zadorov is a 25 year old RFA. Would expect the #Blackhawks to lock him up long term. |

So will Scott1977. I believe he's been clamoring for Zadorov for a while now. |

Zadorov hits everything in sight, too. His hits leave marks, too. There's a big difference between the "finishing your checks" type of hits that are garden variety versus the type that players like Zadorov, Reaves, and Wilson deliver. |

CHI/COL deal is Saad and Dennis Gilbert for Zadorov and Anton Lindholm. CHI retains $1M on Saad. |

Don't understand the salary retention on Chicago's part but whatever. I'm sure that'll make some sense soon. |

Then trade deHaan. Zadorov is a lefty that can play either side. Would make a good 2nd pairing guy.

Nikita Zadorov is a 25-year-old RFA defenseman.
He's a 2nd-pair caliber defensive defenseman. He racks up a lot of hits with his 6'6", 235 lb. body but not a lot of points. Analytically, he's slightly above average defensively and well below average offensively. |

There isn't anything in his analytics that suggests he's 2P quality at this stage but I guess him being only 25 means he has time but for a proven top 6 player and retaining... eh.

Thanks, LBR, and welcome back after not seeing you in these parts for a long while.
My take on Zadorov is that he's best anchoring a 3rd pair. I'd much rather trust the 2nd pair to be Murphy with de Haan assuming good health for both and neither of them are on the trading block right now. |

As for Anton Lindholm, he's a defensive defenseman. I wouldn't expect him to be nothing more than Rockford depth to replenish what was lost in Dennis Gilbert. |

Hi! Yeah, I've been limiting my hockey time to SCH as I got promoted at work last year around Christmas but I needed to vent with other hockey peeps and SCH isn't fully covering it lol.
I agree, Zadorov is probably an okay enough bottom pairing guy but then I don't understand why it cost Saad for that. Imo they would have been better off retaining more to get a better package now or at the TDL. Also Zadorov is a RFA so his contract isn't know but if he comes even close to Maatta, it makes that trade pretty pointless too. |
