Lankinen, Subban and Delia all signed through 21-22. Lankinen only one waivers exempt. All three eligible for expansion draft. This year will probably determine which one gets protected. Also one may be traded before the draft to someone who needs to expose a goalie.

Did you watch the playoffs? The goalie we lost isn’t exactly what I’d call “good”, at least not anymore. Old. Injury prone. Washed up. Just preformed like poop in his most recent stretch of play. We needed to clear cap space. It’s not like we lost some world class goalie.

He played 1-2 decent games mostly out of sync the whole time. But overall, Kubalik, Dinky, Boqvist and Strome all got their asses kicked. Nylander was playing for the other team more than us. Maatta is gone. Yes Kubalik got a couple goals but was non factor more than a factor. Heck Kane was non factor. We need quite a bit more to be a contender.

The idea of a blog community is discussion on topics. In this case the hockey in general but more specifically the Chicago Blackhawks. Ideas are thrown around good or bad people having different perspective or opinions is all good its for discussion sake. Some posters are more knowledgeable on hockey in general than others and that is good. There is always one bad apple that has to stir the pot best not read that persons post or reply. So just continue giving opinions and ideas some will agree and some won't.

Just gotta hope that the youth continues to improve, and that 88 and 19 don’t all of a sudden fall off a cliff. It’s a reasonable expectation to have.

The forwards will be in great shape. Not worried there. Kane/Toews/Dach/Cat/Saad/Kubalik and then POTENTIALLY Strome and Nylander. That’s a lot of top end talent. Suter and Shaw also will be in the mix now too.

The defense is the area of concern. If Boqvist and Mitchell aren’t living up to the hype we’re in trouble. And even if they live up to the hype I still think we’re one legit defenseman short. But we’re clearing space and might not be done yet, maybe Stan makes a move to further upgrade. If not now then during the season.

Honestly, I’m more hyped for a Mitchell than Boqvist. Right or wrong I’ve got big expectations.
