Just listened to Ralph’s interview. They’re thinking long term for Hall...take that as you will. Usually in a deal like this it’s a take it one day at a time and we will see if it’s a good fit. It sounds like there’s real interest in keeping him long term.
Sounds like it will be Hall with Eichel
Go get me Kuemper and move a blue liner or two... |

Yep time to knock off the high priced forwards, think we got our limit, and spend elsewhere on the roster. - sgk56
Goalie upgrade is our biggest “need” now imo |

For anyone who didn't hear it...
On the potential for a long-term fit
Krueger echoed general manager Kevyn Adams in expressing optimism that the relationship with Hall can extend beyond his one-year deal.
"I really know Taylor very well," he said. "He is extremely competitive, but he wants an environment that's working, and he wants an environment where he is also enjoying every day at the rink. Of course, the winning needs to be a part of that equation. But I am extremely confident that things going well and the experiences that he will have here very quickly once he gets to know Buffalo, he'll get to see what a great city this is to live in, the high quality of life that's available to anybody here that opens their eyes.
"He is more of a small-town guy. I think he will embrace this versus the big city life. … He's coming into an environment that I believe really suits who he is as a person. So, I'm optimistic that this has potential long-term legs."

I am all for Kuemper .... he played REALLY well for the coyates with a sub par roster.
I am not sure who you want roster wise on defense. I think they will move a D man to create some cap space but thats really it.
Hey ..... give pilut a text, call, email, tweet, and instagram DM to see if he would come back. We did tender him. |

The Islanders signed Eberle to a new deal last year, and it has 4 seasons left. They're trading him already? For what?
Justin Schultz was signed by the Capitals 3 days ago. They're trading him already? - kingcong39
Maybe ralph makes a few phone calls?
I hear he's persuasive.

Interesting ..... more of a small town guy.
I dont get why more players dont embrace that idea. I get they are young and make good money. But man .... how much money do players blow living in NYC on rent or a condo? In Canada, half your paycheck automatically gets taxed. Then dealing with traffic and what not. That would suck.
Look at Eichel, he lives on the waterfront. He could literally walk to work. ( he did bike ride with Reinhart). Its a much easier and less stressful way of life.

We want players who want to be here. We want players who are humble and hungry and want to win and be part of something special.

Has he indicated he's willing to come back with a one way contract?
Why is everyone penciling him in?

Sam isn't hungry and doesn't want to be in Buffalo? Says who?
Jack was interviewed last year about his pre-season workout and he said no matter how great a shape he's in and feels he did in the workouts, Sam always outdoes him when it comes to the fitness tests. |

We definitely need to move out a RD but looking at teams depth charts and cap situations it's not going to be that easy to find a partner.
For example, we are mentioning Arizona. They have almost $14.5 mil spend on RD Gologoski, Hammer and demmers. Don't think there is a match there. To get kuemper, probably needs to be mittlestat, ullmark prospect and pick.
IMO The teams that make most sense to trade a RD to are Vancouver and Calgary. Not sure what makes sense for Vancouver to trade back. With Calgary maybe Montour or Miller for Bennett ? Or make something bigger happen for Hanifin? But I think we won't be getting a lot for our RD. Hutton might be good option to sign for LD.
Skinner Eichel olaf

Girgs Bennett Okoposo
Lazar/Reider/middlestat Eakin Thompson
