Really? We have a backup goalie as our starter, and a guy who should retire as his backup. Is their a worse goalie tandem in the league?
I’ll have to find the tweet, but our projected 3rd line is ranked the 34th best “3rd” line which means 3 teams have 4th lines better than our 3rd.
Our 4th line is an AHL tweener centering two overpaid wingers

Projections help, tell a big story, but until the team is put on the ice we just don't know. - Buff36
Player analysis drives the projections, and that analysis is driven by past play on ice by each player.
There's always variance, but to ignore a lengthy history of on ice results seems foolish. |

It’s funny how we are whining about 3rd and 4th liners.
Every single 3rd and 4th liners have up and down seasons production wise and same goes with their analytics and pending who they play with on a yearly basis |

He’s bad. It’s fine. He might luck out that Cozens is a star and Hall will want to resign and Dahlin evolves into a Norris caliber D man |

Let's face it. Adams has heavily touted an analytics-based approach to player evaluation since he was hired. Other than Taylor Hall, who a blind kid with an IQ below 40 could have told you checked all the boxes, his decisions, including the draft, have translated to the exact opposite. There's a lot to like about the past few days. There's also a lot to be concerned about. Adams is who he is: an inexperienced GM who lucked into landing a big fish. |

Yep. What he almost did at the draft is so hilariously bad.
If Nashville agrees to that trade he tried to make he would’ve traded 37 and 38 to get into the 20’s to take a guy who fell to 34. The exact opposite of what the numbers suggest doing. |

The bold has been found to be totally untrue, unless a player is paired with a horrific player for a season or stretch of games, like any defenseman with Jack Johnson last season.
That aside, which is rare, the advanced stats do not vary as much. |

Also, Tim Murray turned out to be a genius. Why trade Ristolainen for Taylor Hall when you can have both 3 years later? |

And got Staal for Mojo, thus solving a problem that eluded the cap guru for 2 years |

1 too many guys there on the right. You also forgot McCabe. Irwin in the mix on the left as well.
You move one righty and Borgen is still just the extra. - jcragcrumple
I think its important to be deep at all positions.
Ralph was probably calling the shots with pilut. Doubt he comes back.
Likeable group for me
Dahlin- superstar
Risto *for me - physical play / points
Joker- young guy looking forward to his development
Mccabe- good team guy - always liked him
Mountour - prove it
Miller - prove it
Pilut - fine player
Neither are hateable- yet |

He gets credit for that. But before Hall this wasn’t close to a playoff caliber roster, so his accomplishment goes as far as maybe not ruining Cozens.

Does anyone see any way we can “help” some of the teams up against the cap?
St. Louis has steen on ir, it’s a 5.75 cap hit, but $3.5 celery. - relieve some cap and give us Dunn? - nice young 2LD?
Az is up against it hard... a tendy or a davorak or garland.
Ducks, Habs, Caps and jets are your next teams in and up against the cap...
Let’s see if Adams can find that creative trade to right the d and find a tendy... - Gr8daygo
Az is interesting , here's a thought..
Kuemper ($4.5m), Chychrun ($4.6m), Stepan ($6.5m) [$15.6m]
For
Montour ($3.8m), Mitts ($0.8m?), Hutton ($2.75m) [$ 7.35m]
Saves AZ $8.25m...55% of their goal to reduce by $15m
Sabres get a 1a Goal and 2nd pairing LhD along with a serviceable
Stephan leaves next season allowing that money to go to bridge deals for Dahlin and Joker.
Will then need to sell Risto and Sam
Skinner/Hall - Eichel - Stepan
Skinner/Hall - Staal - Cozens
Olofsson - Eatkin - Thompson
Girgs - Lazar - Okposo
Dahlin - Miller
Chrychrun - Joker
McCabe - Borgen
Kuemper
Ullmark
Ahhh one can dream |

Speaking of that, and I referred to this earlier, everybody seems to project him oas a top six winger. I don't like it. I need to see if the kid can handle the center position at this level as soon as possible. Obviously, it can't be in a top six role right away, but I will take my lumps in the bottom six, especially given how weak it is already, with Cozens centering one of those lines.

The sooner he takes the 3C spot from Cody it’s the freakin Eakin the better.
I sincerely can’t believe they took the LOG line, which would’ve been excellent to have behind Staal and Eichel, and made it a black hole
Oh and we still have 1,521 RD, and bad goalies.

I only think you're seeing Cozens projected in the top 6 as an RW because the Sabres have openly talked about starting him on the wing of Staal's line. |

I’m super happy for Taylor Hall and Dahlin becoming a beast this season |
