So it’s in all the players best interest to go to arbitrator - IndianaSabresFan
Unless the player believes he can get and wants a longer deal than max 2 years in Arb, or they are close on a deal already they feel is reasonable, alla Montour's. |

If I may?
Can we please all get along here?
We are individuals that are not always going to agree on everything, that's what makes us all unique.
If we disagree, disagreeing like an adult goes a long long way.
We all have bad days and we would all be better off remembering that.
Respect that we are all different and our opinions "may vary".
Listen or try to understand a different view instead of attacking.
If we all practice these things, this would be a much more pleasant place to visit and talk hockey about a hockey team that we all are clearly passionate about.
I've learned some things in life in the hardest way possible this year.
Never allow your last words wherever they may be, be words that you may regret or words that you may be remembered for especially if they are words in a negative light.

I'm also a bit concerned, if that's the right word, that one of Reinhart or Olofsson (probably not Cozens but who knows) has to play with Eatkids - TheSabresTaco

We're the only team to play a defensive style in the NHL huh? All other 30 teams play run n gun and we play sounder defense to compensate.
Argument doesn't hold water. - SDSabre
The Sabres scored more goals then the Stars, Isles, and CBJ this year.
Now they did defend better then us however we were a top 7-8 team (until the last couple of weeks when the wheels fell off) defending against high danger saving opportunities.
The only difference being their goaltending didn’t ultimately crumble them like ours did.
Our goalies save percentage against high danger chances were some of the worst in the league.
It’s like playing a prevent defence in football with 3 deep safeties and still getting beat over the top for a touchdown.

Are you talking just playoff teams, because you also missed the Coyotes, who also run a very heavy defensive system that limit high danger chances, who's goalies aren't exactly world beaters in that department yet somehow one will come in and be the saving grace to this team? I mean, of goalies available, we're talking guys that are on par with Ullmark right? So like I said, want to upgrade just like the rest but calling them the worst tandem in the league when the numbers don't exactly support that is a bit disingenuous. |

Pretty much, definitely didn't have there heads in this game. Really need to straighten out that defense, getting killed on play action, and are LB's aren't playing very well. |

Really appreciate that ion, I really do.🤙
I'm still healing.
Still not ready for work, well I am, but my heart isn't.
Frustrating but I have to be patient.
I also have to understand that I may not ever be able to go back to what I was doing prior to my heart surgeries.
I only had 4 more years until full retirement out of #210.😞
But, I have to mentally understand that and accept that and just be happy that I am alive.
And I am just happy to be alive.
Sometimes things happen in life for good reason.
Some of us need a good swift kick in the rear to "get it".
I got kicked real good.🤣
God bless my friend.

I noticed while back reading (reiding-rieding).
We all do it.
Hey, I gave Murray the once over too.
I'm not proud of it looking back but we live and learn.
But then again, honesty is okay too.🤙
By the way, I agree that the Pegulas deserve a pass for now.
The signing of Hall and Staal tells me that they truly are interested in winning right now.
Hopefully it works out for them and for us devoted Sabres fans.

Here are the numbers that suggest the opposite. Kuemper and Rannta were the best goalies in their division of goals saved above expectation.

Unwantingly, I've had a lot of time on my hands since July.
I've been doing a lot of reading here, trying to stay up to date on this team and organization.
Some very intelligent posters here that know what they are talking about when it comes to this team and its future.
I appreciate them all.
I come here lurking when I want the latest information on this team.
I appreciate this board. |

I don't get this.. Ullmark posted a .915 % with that number being absolutely dragged to hell when on the PK. Ullmark was on the upper end of 5v5 S% and Hutton was middle of the pack. Yes, on the PK your goalie needs to be the best killer, and they weren't. Scheme and crease protection can be increased from our forwards to help this. I agree that we can upgrade, but just so everyone is aware, Ullmark and Kuemper were about the same 5v5 and Hutton outplayed Gibson 5v5.. I think a lot of this can be cleared up with much better killing from our skaters and a couple timely saves if we can get them. I'm all for upgrading btw.. They just weren't close to the worst that people keeping claiming.
- SDSabre[img][/img]
Hutton was 42nd in the NHL min 10 games in 5 on 5 sv%.
Ullmark was 10th.
The problem is each were well below replacment level in stopping high danger shots which Krueger limited with his system.
They also were terrible PK goalies.

It would seem that as a tandem what I said was correct, collectively they weren't the worst in the league if you look solely at expected goals against no? There were what I can tell at least two teams that had goalies as a tandem playing collectively worse within our own division. Do we need an upgrade, yes. Third time I've said it. Were they the worst in traditional stats or fancy stats? nope.
Also, still really irritating that we lost Cal Peterson for no reason and got no compensation while we had to give Pitt a 3rd round pick to hire their coach.. I'll never understand why those two rules coexisted simultaneously |

Touched on the PK.
And yeah, Ullmark was top half and Hutton would be top half for a back up.. My point was calling them the absolute worst tandem in the league was incorrect by almost all metrics.. because it's just undeniably false. |

This above.
It's been a really bad year for non stop uninformed posts on the Buffalo Sabres. Bashing the owners with misinformation, relentlessly. Hope you take a different approach in the future, other than "Respect the yacht."
