It is not.
Look, we all want Sam to be better, especially given his draft position and who was taken after him.
But As long as Eichel is here, so is Reinhart. Why would you trade Eichel's Kunitz, who is the same age more or less, and why would you do it banking on an unproven player?
They should be dangling Olofsson, who is basically a smaller Kotalik until further notice. Try to get Skinner out of here and see if Seattle is interested waaaaay before you consider trading Sam, especially if he signs that 3/21 deal 89 mentioned, by then, Okposo is off the books and you figure it out from there.
Anyone trying to trade Reinhart, fans and ownership alike, is out of their minds.
And I'm not even a fan of his. But he's never hurt, and will put up 60+ per on Eichel's RW. Why would you trade that? Cozens and Quinn can play together down on line 2 and if Skinner is still around, and if Hall signs an extention, then that's a pretty solid top-6.
I'm more worried they're going to pay Olofsson to be a wimpy perimeter PP-specialist and try to shove him down our throats like Darcy did with Kotalik. - 3rd GM's the charm
I don’t want to move him.
My personal feeling is he doesn’t want to stay here long term so they end up trading him

I’m just happy we have Hall for now at least
If we can get a legit goalie,
then we make the playoffs
And then MAYBE we can keep Hall |

Need to move D men too.
Borgen needs a shot. He’s 23. Bryson might also be decent. He’s 22 |

Can’t pay everyone
Stuck with Skinner
Stuck with Okposo
Dahlin is getting a big raise soon
Getting a legit goalie will take Cap space
Keeping Hall might mean we don’t have the
room for Sam
I’ve been a Reinhart fan from day1,
but the Salary Cap isn’t going up for at least

Does Borgen really NEED a shot?
He’s been ok in Rochester, but it’s not like he’s an AllStar or something... is he?
I like the idea of a good defensive defenseman
Just don’t know if he is one
Let’s see him earn some more call up time before we hand him a roster spot
*all of the above for Bryson as well |

Honestly I’d rather have him as a 6/7 than Irwin, or playing a RD at LD.
They also shouldn’t sit guys like Miller |

But why? What gave you this feeling? It's approaching Eklund-like territory, just throwing mud at a wall to see if it sticks. He and Eichel are really good friends, apparently, and where else is he going to go? Vancouver to be home? Why? Then let him, idk. |

Or is just bc u hate Risto & want him gone? |

You don't need to pay that position more than 4 million. Good defense can make an average goalie look great. You don't have to build from the net-out anymore, this isn't the 90's. Lundquivst, Price, Bobrovsky, Luongo, Rask... all perfect examples of why you don't pay a goalie or give them term like they all had... None of them have a Cup. Holtby isn't an exception, either. He was trash in the regular season until he got hot in the playoffs, and even in that season, Grubauer played excellent behind a good team defense.
MAF is different. IDK why he always gets shat on - He is a 1st ballot HoF, elite goalie, imo. He's always been streaky, but he had zero defense in PGH, still won multiple cups and then took Vegas all the way there in their expansion season. He's so terribly under-rated and he's by far the best goalie of his generation, imo. If Vegas keeps some of his salary, we'd be lucky to have him.
But we're better off riding Ullmark, hoping for a good season from Hutton in a contract year and trading one of Miller, Montour or McCabe for another top-9 forward than we are putting any kind of money into the goaltending position. We have 6K coming up in a year or two anyway.
Dahlin needs to take the next step in his development and we need a solid partner for him. Ship a 2nd, McCabe, Mittelstadt and Montour to Calgary for Mangiapane and Hanifin, sign Chara to a 1-year deal and call it a day. |

I didn’t say to spend $8mil on a goalie
But we do ABSOLUTELY need an upgrade from Hutton
We need good goaltending, not sh!tty goaltending
It’s that simple |

I have no inside info on it. Just a hunch.
I like Reinhart, but he was bridged and then now again as an RFA going to arbitration
I could be totally wrong idk |

I’m not sure if I would even want to go long term with Hall, I think this one year marriage is perfect for both sides.
If they do happen to get Hall under contract long term after this year it’s because they found a taker for Skinner.
I’m just going to enjoy this year and see what happens next offseason. |

sabres got their best winger since mogilny, no offense to skinner, vanek or anyone else
this is going to be a top 5 scoring team
if they keep hutton, it's because of what he did early in the last 2 seasons
relax we have something good happening for once in sabre land |

Well you know us, once we get elite talent, we want to get rid of it for *reasons*
Can't wait to run Hall out of town cuz we need to sign a 3C n stuff
Regrettably spent time on twitter yesterday rebutting the 'I hope we don't extend Hall because I'm a sorry piece of sh1t' crowd. |

Hutton has looked good at times. He was atrocious at the end of last year, but was that because of the supposed eye issue? has that been fixed? I want an upgrade but i think the bigger issue might be the defense.. |

He collapsed two years in a row. Is it a workload thing? Conditioning? I believe I saw that early on, Hutton was saving well beyond expectation, and once he settled in to at or lower, his GAA collapsed.

that is why i want an upgrade.. BUT (and its a Kardashian butt) if ullmark can be a true starter and he is just the backup, could he be alright? i really don't want to find out because thats too many ifs and butts |
