Hutton will end up with the Knights as soon as Fleury is moved. It’s best to hope Ullmark doesn’t have another mild knee sprain and be out of the lineup for 7 weeks.
What makes you think Mittelstadt will end up being a serviceable 3rd line center for the upcoming season?
Also, if you only think he may, then you go out and get another center and in no way plan on Mittelstadt being able to do the job. - kingcong39
he had 30 (13+17) points through his first 83 games before his struggles last season...skill is not his problem, learning to be a pro and handling on-ice situations, including the speed of the game, were his pitfalls last season...having a strong vet like smith will help the former while playing in a third-line role will help the latter
Girgensons will eat pucks with his face, possess the puck, work the corners, finish checks, he may only score like 1 of 10 on breakaways but if this team makes the playoffs he will be seen and appreciated honestly. We can't have 12 Eichels each player brings a unique skillset

That all sounds logical, but it is far from something the team can rely on, right?
If they are being cheapskates, then sure, but they need another center they can rely on, especially if they really want to make a push for the playoffs and actually make the playoffs.
Well, if they are serious about that, then they are absolutely looking at upgrading the defense as well.

i agree with another center, but they'll need to trade for one because the ufa market has really nothing for them

Still don't understand why we signed gus they should have let him walk get some new players - GERBE!!!75PTS
Reasons to sign him
-Effective in his role, actually likes being here, plays very well under Ralph
I get it. New blood is always nice at first, and maybe not later. We don't know who we'd attract, we don't know what kind of money his comparables will make, and we don't know how they'd fit in.

Can we say that about like maybe 2 guys on the roster (Not Buffalo the city, but playing for the Sabres). I feel like losing their love for the game is a requirement when you sign a contract with the Sabres. Girgs still loves to play hockey, therefore sign him up for 3 more years.. We'll break him.
I’d love to pair him with Dahlin. I’m not the one who floated it. But it’s a heck of an idea. We’d just need to move 2-3 rhd to add him and still find a 2LD.
“Lebrun says he thinks the Leafs have had some internal discussions on Travis Hammonic, and also thinks they like Brandon Montour, BUT doesn't think that TOR and BUF will make a trade together. Lebrun has NOT heard Nylander's name out there.”
“Ahead of Free Agency at noon, I’ve heard the #Sabres linked to both Erik Haula and Mikael Granlund. We’ll see if anything materializes throughout the day, but the interest is there”
