The Kahun thing is puzzling, but at the same time it hasn't played out. As Pham pointed out on twitter teams fear giant arb awards. Rodriguez got 2 mill last year and signed for 700k today. Who knows, they may get it right. - Slump Buster
Kahun is free to sign with anyone right now, so instead of one arbiter, there’s now 30 across the league who can determine his value.
No matter the outcome they didn’t get it right |

Like I said, happily eat crow if it comes to that. Doesn't even have to be Kahun. Can be someone better. - SDSabre
I actually think right know they are trying to see if they can get anyone as in Toffoli, Granlund. Haula signed in the next day or so and see if they can fit Kahun, the door hasn't shut on Kahun yet. |

There was a signing by Chicago for Kubliak and they said Oloffson should close for a 2 year deal, but no word out. |

I don’t believe they couldn’t have signed girgs for 1.7 and Kahun for 2.5. Same as 2.2 for girgs and 2 for kahun. There’s no way he’s taking less than girgs to play here now imo. - TheHank
why even sign Gus???? We signed Lazar all ready. We dont need anymore 3 & 4th liners, we need people that can actually score.

What are the good ones? Staal?
He’s the exact same out of his element Gm as the last one.
So far
In
Staal
Reider
Out
Larsson
Kahun
Johansson
At best we’re break even right now, in an offseason they should be desperate to be a ton better. - sbroads24
The value for Staal, moving up to get his guy in the second, who's by all accounts a solid get and should have been a first rounder by mosts grades. VO's deal is good, pending on where that leaves him as an RFA. It hasn't been all doom n gloom.

I will give them the staal deal, that was a good get for cheap, however the others are TBD yet. Draft choices are crap shoots and we wont know about the 2nd rounder for years. V.O has not been signed yet. There is way more bad then there is good.

I’m not gonna hammer him too hard for this, but these moves routinely end up being bad ideas.
If he moved to 11 like he was trying, he would’ve ended up sending 37 and 38 to someone to get back into the first to draft a guy who was taken 34th. It’s usually bad value and the draft is an absolute crapshoot past the top 10-15 guys.

Quinn at 11 would have felt better. Sending 37 and 38 would have been way too much to get back into the end of the first. It would have been something like:
37,38 and that 100ish pick
for
the late first and a late 2nd/early 3rd |

We could likely still trade Eichel for Byfield + or for Lafreniere +
Were u expecting big name signings today for us?
Who signed elsewhere that you’re upset about? |

I give credit for finding a guy they want, and having the stones to go up and get him instead of hoping he falls. It's better than the alternative. |

Very true, and what I heard yesterday a Goalie and 2 forwards where on the list, hopefully Tobias wasn't included on that list. |
