Yep, that's about as good as a lineup as we can ice right about now. Pretty much exactly how I envision it. IF (big if) Quinn, Cozens, Casey, and Tage can be good/great next year, that lineup isn't so bad. Out of all of them, I see Quinn as making the biggest impact (if he's on the ice with Eichel). Would be nice if Cozens/Casey/Tage live up to their high draft status. If that happens ? That's a pretty decent team next season (IF there's a season !)

I would also add if UPL starts and is good/great - that would help immensely.

That lineup is a 26th place roster...maybe 22nd if everything goes right.
Factor in Jack getting pissed and his heroic attitude is put on pause...could be closer to a top 3 pick

Well, maybe a better way to say it is...

The Sabres, a goal starved team for the last 4+ years, actively chose to:

A) usher out the door a 0.67ppg player for them ..all over ~ $500k...he who has produced a 25 goals over his 1st 138 games in the league
Yet
B) overpaid a 4th line player who produces at 0.28 ppg and scored 19 goals over the last 141 games

Reider is a good penalty killer though, for whatever that is worth.

If he’s just a warm body in the press box or alternated in and out with Lazar and playing sparingly I don’t mind it

So, you like the guy who tries hard but fails because his skill level sucks...over a guy who comes in, tries hard and actually succeeds in producing points.

I would think with what ~$10k spent on ST's you of all people would want guys who can actually produce for relatively cheap ($2.75m) and try hard doing so.
