Kahun is still in play until he signs elsewhere, they still are communicating. - Buff36
I mean, I suppose technically sending Gifs of The Finger to each other is communicating...after all Tim is a Communications major. |

Aaaaaaaaaaaand it begins ...
Look, boss ... i'm with you regarding Kahun - nice player, that's it. But why egg these guys on again ? Now it'll be an entire day of back-and-forth b!tching and moaning - going over the same crap as yesterday. As I type this, i'm sure there's people already arguing with you on the subject - again. It's almost like you woke, plopped yourself down in front of the computer, cracked your knuckles and said "Hhmmm, what kind of sh!t can I start today ? Oh, yeah, the Kahun thing...OK, let's go !!" (type type type)
Sigh. We need a big trade...something we can all agree with and love. Maybe that will make it tolerable in here. - kritter65
Debatable, mother (frank)er!

1st and 1st. I'm wearing my Evan Rodrigues jersey that I taped a Girgensons nameplate to.

If someone has a Sheary jersey we can try to knock into each other, miss and fall down. It'll be a hoot |

So, you like the guy who tries hard but fails because his skill level sucks...over a guy who comes in, tries hard and actually succeeds in producing points.
I would think with what ~$10k spent on ST's you of all people would want guys who can actually produce for relatively cheap ($2.75m) and try hard doing so.
Kahun at 0.18 Goal per game rate
Girgensons at 0.12 Gpg rate
Doesn't stack up.
But whatever. - IonSabres
Do hockey players bring anything other than goals per game to the rink?
The coach made the decision on girgensons and kahun.
I agree with both moves.
Remember when everyone liked girgensons.

Girgs had a few down seasons under bylsma.
Maybe he didnt click with that system?

That's still the thing that passes me off about Girgensons. He's not even tuff. He has like three fights in his career and he misses +/-50% of his hits while spinning and falling.
He spends most of his time on the ice adjusting his helmet post-missed hit because he doesn't tighten his bucket properly.
3 years from now Gus and his stupid dopey grin and loose helmet will be 7th all time in games played and 1st all time hits missed for the Sabres |

I’m praying that Jack Quinn becomes the new “Tebow” jab that gets thrown my way.
I honestly think we got a similar talent at 34 then we did at 8 this year.

So since this is a hockey board and I’m clearly not happy about what has happened so far here is why:
Yes the Sabres do need to be tougher to play against. Not just hard on pucks and such but physical with other teams. Buuuuuut what good teams do is build their team with skill players throughout their lineup and THEN add those grinder type players. They also don’t overpay them.
If you don’t like Kahun I can live with that. It’s not that they let him walk (even though that’s not great asset management) it’s that they paid Girgensons $2.2 million for 3 years when teams are signing those depth role players for well under $2 million and only for 1 year deals.
It shows that even though they’re trying to keep it lean they’re still wrong with how their doing it. |

I actually like Quinn A LOT more today then on draft day.
Watched some clips, read a ton.
There are quite a few people who think he’s going to and was better than Rossi the second half of last season.
Thing is, he was a multi sport athlete up until a year and a half ago, he started to really focus on hockey and that’s why he had that huge jump.
Quinn looks solid IMO |

Maybe by Monday you’ll be at the 2.5 he wants and is absolutely worth as opposed to Mr. Latvian Magoo on ice - sbroads24

Larsson drove that line.

I dont think I said one thing about Kahun.
I'm flummoxed that they signed the lesser Larry for some completely unknown reason. He's not tuff, the PK sucks. He's bad and the contract is bad and you should feel bad about your bad opinion |

The gif never went through, because the KIM PHONE wasn't charged over night , the power on the Yacht wasn't working, cause they gave Girgs that big raise and couldn't afford the electrician. |

Boss will just say whatever they do is great.
Notice how it went from “They need to stop signing small, soft players” to “They need to stop signing small guys *for more than they’re worth*” within 24 hours, after the Sabres sign yet another small, soft Tobias Reider - sbroads24
My plan:
G: Kuemper, trade Thompson + Prospect, net salary in 2=3.5M, bury Hutton
RW: Sign Toffoli ($5m) or Dadonov ($4.5m)
C/RW: Sign Craig Smith ($4m)
LHD: Sign Erik Gustaffson ($3.5m). Trade Miller or Montour for picks/prospect to offset cap hit.
Oloffson eichel Reinhart
Skinner Staal Toffoli/Dadonov
Mitts/Rieder Smith Cozens
Girgensons Lazar Okposo
Dahlin Risto/Joker
Gustaffson Risto/Joker
McCabe Montour/Miller
Kuemper
Ullmark
After Signing our RFA our cap would be around $75m, below the ceiling
Thoughts?

Last time Girgs scored 10 goals was 6 years ago...when he play 6:00 more of ice-time on their top line. He upped his play in a contract year this year So Adam's decides to give a fat contract to a 4th line player with a year term rather than a 1 year deal to entice another "contract" year out of him.
Adams gives him a 37% raise, overpaying with term...but balks at spending the same amount as the overpayment on a better player who can play 3 positions.
The absurdity of this signing is simply outstanding.

The leafs , the bolts? Maybe rebuild on the Detroit train?
Vancouver has your big bird meyers?
Wait and see where kahun lands?
