Don’t get this one.
They can’t defend to save their lives and manage to get worse defensively with this move.
However he’ll run their PP and put up a crap ton of points - Pegullaville

Like 89 mentioned ..... Vegas will have to shed some salary. Get on the phone and fleece them. Not too many other teams have cap space to do that.
Also for everyone crying about yesterday.
Hall - I think someone mentioned that
Toffoli
Haula
Koivu
Fast
And a bunch of other good players are still available.
Did you really want to sign one of the scrub goalies that signed?
What player did we miss out on??
The only really good deal was turris for 1.5 mill. The rest of the players were pretty much trash.
Craig Smith would’ve been nice though. But no one with sources on twitter or here even mentioned his name. So I can’t say we took the L on that one - Sabretooth9
I mentioned smith as a target 2 hours ago, an hour before he signed with Boston. I thought he’d get 4+ a year |

I'm standing by the names I posted before, I don't run from anything or make excuses if I'm wrong. I trust my info when I get it. - SABRES 89
I’m not questioning your info
But u do realize that even if the Sabres are going after a certain player, that player actually has to want to come here... right?
Idk about you,
but that just doesn’t seem likely right now
We’re a mess
And I’d bet there’s at least 20+ teams that are a more desirable destination at this point |

Just make it a good prospect who would be worth more than the 2nd or 3rd rounder to get Seattle to take him?
Idk it’s all doable I think but his contract is a huge hurdle - Stripes77
I'd demand a 1st round pick from Tampa plus more, or if they're retaining at least 25%, just the 1st round pick.
All I'd offer in return is the good old future considerations, which means nothing.
Why let them off the hook? |

Fair enough.
Maybe they overpaid girgs? Buffatax is real.
Attracting free agents to wny is real.
He did outscore/outplay his contract LAST year
coach that sees him everyday, likes him
Kahun wasnt worth arbitration.
If they sign him for 2 million, sure.
Everyone will pretend they weren't pegging him as a 40 point close to 4 million $ guy.
Low 2 millions - good move by the Sabres.
Although I really trust the Sabres opinion - Boss34
It’s possible Adams (Kim) didn’t know what the market rate was. It was set during the 1st day
Remember how last year Hayes skinner and a few others were given some very lucrative contacts.
Then the free agent market came out and fair market value was less than they were paid

True
Except mine has the possibility of accomplishing something
The Sabres aren’t reading these posts,
and wouldn’t alter their decision making even if they were
This whiny crybaby bullsh!t accomplishes nothing - jdfitz77
To be fair: message boards are really only for 3 things:1) female doging 2) celebrating teams success 3) honing in on an a teams future success. 2 hasn’t happened, 3 is getting stale. I love the Sabres, idk why. I had the luxury of choosing any team under the sun (not from or anywhere close to Buffalo, have 0 ties) but I chose them anyways. I’ll ride through the thick of it. Just my .02. If people want to female dog about it, whatever there’s the door. If people are too optimistic, whatever there’s the door. I will never have another team I cheer for over Buffalo, much like most of you. But it is getting hard to feel even remotely optimistic about the train wreck we’ve watched the last 9. |

Good post
I heard hall again this morning.
The $ tied up in left wings (sdsabre) brought up makes it less likely. The ralph connection is real though.
Maybe hall at 6.75 per? Covid pricing
The 3.5-3.75 from kahun (whatever the arbitration would have been) and the 3 million from Larsson moving on? - Boss34
I read an article on contract expectations for Top UFA ... had Hall at $8.5sh
$6.75 seems low since he signed for $6m in 2013.
If they landed him, then they will almost certainly need to trade Olofsson ... Hall and Skinner at $17.5 for 2 lefties is high...adding $4.0sh would be crazy. |

Didnt you hear that halls mothers uncles 2nd roommate in college that lives in buffalo is good friends with hall. Clearly we gottem!
As for being mad at the Sabres. Not yet. If all the list of players I mentioned are signed and we don’t sign one of them. Then we can all be mad
But let’s wait and see - Sabretooth9
I agree patience is a virtue and FA is not the only way to change/improve the team.

We all have opinions...mine is just better Boss...jk'g
Staal. Absolutely LOVED it and still do...gave me hope.
Kahun, Girgs, are bad, and Reider is ok as 13th
Quinn was questionable in my book...like Rossi a whole lot better is all...maybe Quinn turns out great..I'll wait.
He went from A+++ on Staal
To
C with Staal et all. - IonSabres
I actually value your opinions. Dont always agree, but you bring great points to the discussion.
I really cant make a draft evaluation as I did not follow to closely.
I like Quinn's work ethic and story about playing multiple sports. Sky's the limit now that he can focus on hockey.
I know too many parents who "manage" their kids "careers ". Hockey all day.
Being a level II coach, usa hockey suggests other sports and not overdoing hockey training year round.

Hall makes absolutely not send to Hall or to the Sabres. LW is the last of the Sabres needs and there’s no way in the world Hall signs for 6.75m per |

Contacts are gonna be all over the board right now
They always are
Girgs got a .5mil raise for a 3yr deal
That’s actually extremely reasonable
I get that some ppl don’t like him
But he was a good defensive player, on a good defensive line, AND he actually scored some goals last year
If he keeps up his play from last season,
it’s AT LEAST a “decent” deal
If he reverts to his play from 3yrs ago,
THEN it will be disappointing
BUT EITHER WAY, it’s not a huge deal |

I’m a college football nut, and this is actually one of the things that th best of the best actually look for: fitness fanatic, and their sport isn’t their life. Having interests outside of what they do that still correlate indirectly (other sports) to success at a current sport is something Dabo, Saban, Meyer, and all the other big boys look for |

Yep.
The skinner deal is really suspect looking back on it.
Especially considering he scored 28 goals in this first 40 and now what 26 more in the last 100?
The skinner deal had to approve by the pagilos |

Which is why it’s even more imperative to not let a guy like Kahun walk.. I don’t know which side of the fence your on, but letting him walk is silly because of the above. You own his rights for at least another year. Make him play here. Maybe it likes it, but didn’t think he would. Idk, can’t not look at the full picture |
