What do you mean bu that?
- Michael Pachla

I’m not going to judge the off-season until it’s complete. A lot here are on suicide watch BUT if we traded a dman for a forward and signed a top 6 RW everyone would be gleeful. The one thing I will say so far, and I don’t think its debatable, is their new reliance on analytics is absolutely a lie.

1. Analytics wouldn’t have you draft Quinn over Rossi and never trades up in a draft (though I like the kid)
2. The two dmen signed are two of the worst analytically in the league
3. Eakin and Rieder, although I think both can serve a purpose on the team, are very poor analytically.

So hopefully there’s a Meaningful move or 4 left in this offseason, but to say they’d be relying more on a analytics is absolutely BS

Flury and Marchessault ?

Korpisalo and Savard ?

Edit: Az tendy and Graland?

89 said they aren’t done. So I am guessing Risto or Miller gets moved.

89 has said several times they love Risto

My guess is Miller or maybe even Montour

So the Sabres are at 59.9 million according to cap friendly.

Sam
Ullmark
Olofsson

With a soft self cap of 70 mill.

They definitely are going to move a contact to get under that. No way can we sign all 3 under 10 mill

- Sabretooth9

59.9 + 5.5 (Sam) + 2 (ullmark) + 3.5 (Olof) = 71

Trade Montour + mitts for kuemper= 71-3.9 -1 +4.5= 70.5
Sign Tofolli = 70.5 +5 = 75.5
Trade risto for picks = 75.5-5.4 = 70.1
Trade Hutton (I know not easy) = 70.1-2.2 =67.9
Sign Erik Gustafson = 67.9+3 = 70.9

Playoffs....

Maybe montour gets moved?

Contract seems reasonable.

And isn’t Miller one of the most solid analytically... as in if they aren’t going to bring in a Dahlin partner, Miller would be the best fit analytically.

Also, I’d love to see the analytics of Monte playing his off side, because if I remember right, he was just above hot garbage.

Dahlin. Miller.
McCabe. Risto
Monte. Joker.
Larryson. Irwarry
Borgen
I just don’t like that lineup.

For what it's worth, the internal cap is not $70M, it's more like $75M, and that's actual salary, not cap hit.

I thought risto had a good year last year. Hope he sticks around.

Is montour a value / tradeable contract?

Seems reasonable

Montour was hot garbage as an LHD, and the majority of the time he spent at LHD was with Ristolainen as his RHD. They were a god awful pair, and were a big reason the Sabres cratered in defensive metrics as a team by the end of the season.

Ristolainen had a solid start and a horrible finish, ending up with worse numbers than under Housley.

Miller is criminally underused. Just another one of ralph's questionable player decisions.

What’s the odds Okposo retires? Maybe they are loading up on 4th liners with this knowledge.

If they are truly into analytics, which they're obviously not, they'd trade all three of Ristolainen, Montour, and even Miller, and then try to get Dunn or Weegar, and then add a cheap D vet who is strong defensively.

None of that will happen though.

What you posted should come as no surprise to you, Skinner makes 9 mill a year and this cracker ass coach we have refuses to put him with Eichel, hell, he refuses to put him on the 2nd line.

CHI/COL deal is Saad and Dennis Gilbert for Zadorov and Anton Lindholm. CHI retains $1M on Saad.

It shows you who the real GM is, and it isn't Adams.
