Bottrrill was worse - Mentalorgasm5
I can see it from both sides. Murray actually shot his shot, Botterill was terrified to, both were spectacular failures. What's worse is debatable. Reckless or feckless. |

There are still some cost effective, positive on ice impactful defensemen left available in Joakim Ryan (LHD), Tim Heed (RHD), and Jan Rutta (RHD).
None are projected to cost more than $1M on a one year deal, and they can all make a positive impact on the team as bottom pairing defensemen.

Difference being is that Murray was a beady eyed douche bag. |

Sabres are expecting each individual player to try hard all game long.
Give a %100 legitimate effort .
That's what most Sabres fans want.
A respectable blue collar team. Win or lose.
They aren't gonna be a stanley cup team, at least work hard.
They have been horrible for the past decade and very soft. - Boss34
after sleeping on the girgens/larsson situation
maybe gus is a much better practice player and that is why they rewarded him the 3 year contract
just a thought |

I remember last year at FA signing time there was some interest here in getting Brett Connolly. Any still feel he would be a good addition for the Sabres? I think Zito would love to move Yandle, but Yandle holds the hammer on any trade. Stralman could go, but Tallon overpaid him and he may be hard to move. FL would like to free up some more space to (possibly) re-sign Dadonov or maybe even try to make a deal to keep Hoffman around. Connolly could probably be had for pick/prospect. |

If anything this just reeks of Babcock it Stamkos all over again... get a desperate team to drive up the price you have no interest in actually signing |

I don't think any of us (well, maybe one person) has any illusions of Hall signing here |

Patriots game postponed, Bills probably postponed soon also. Bills:KC game probably back on for Thursday. Bills 12 day rest, KC 4 days = advantage Bills, plus KC has to travel to WNY |

A while back I posted a lineup that had the prospects getting a chance and the only free agents were bargain boys. Looks like that is solid.
I didn’t see the Staal trade happening but it’s an excellent move to have a mentor for the young players. As for drafted Quin it’s a bold move maybe no one person saw coming other than Adams but we won’t know for a few years. They obviously were not rushing to get any plug and play draftees with the thought that Mitts, Cozens, Tage and maybe a few others are ready.
There won’t be any further action until the NHL decides when and how long the season will be or if there will be one.
Unless Taylor Hall falls out of the plane while passing over he won’t be visiting.
Hutton is the best backup and mentor for the young goalies so he will stay. The question is now who will be there with him.
So far I say Adams is doing a great job and isn’t jumping to overpay and with the expansion draft not far away his plan includes who should be protected or not.

We still need a LHD and to trade a RHD but analytics seems to be the last thing on our new regime’s mind based on signings so far.
I like it Erik Gustaffson a lot for around $3 per. Could slot in as our middle LHD right away. What does his chart look like?

How confident are you on him visiting? Has a source told you he is or are you just going on the flight schedule?
Is someone in Canada even allowed to come to the US anyway?? Wouldn’t he have to quarantine for 14 days when going back to Canada? I want to believe you but I don’t see this being realistic?? |

Nice, not wearing as mask either. The NFL better come down rally hard on them: millions of dollars of fines, suspensions, draft picks forfeited... |

Gustafsson is all offense and no defense. He's also projected to get $5M per or more on his next deal.

He's got no idea, I'm pretty sure he cant even fly in because of covid... Hell the boarder is closed between the us and Canada now anyway. he's just guessing he has no idea.
