@TSNBobMcKenzie

If, as expected, the one-year deal is $1.5M, it would be fitting. That would make Lundqvist “whole” on $4.5M salary he was scheduled to get for 20-21. $3M of it would be in his buyout from the Rangers (paid out over two years) but $1.5M would top him back up to $4.5M total.

from last blog:

the concerning thing about Buch is how much is he going to ask for after this coming season, especially with this Josh Anderson contract

but I think Buch at 3.25 mil this coming season is a heck of a bargain

I'd trade almost anybody in the right deal though

my only untouchables are Laf, Kakko, Shesty and Fox (and then the NMC guys of course)

Find another LH D man and bottom 6 depth

If all of this happens then you can package some things together to upgrade at 2C

I guess they think he's a 7 million a year player that hasn't broken out yet and they wanted him signed at a bargain long term but, yowza

Huge , foolish overpay exaggerated even more in a COVID flat cap era.

Still can't wait to see what happens in Tampa and will Rangers be involved?

Buch gets knocked off the puck too easily . He's gets goals but would like to see him in a trade where we get a good skater with some grit

Well I will be the one who thinks the Anderson contract isn't bad. The dude is only 26 every year his point totals were going up, he is a monster when on his game. Last year he was injured so I wouldn't even look at those stats.

it's just very long if he doesn't get his game going again

that looks an awful lot like the Andrew Ladd contract if he doesn't get it together

its a gamble

Its possible, but Ladd was also 4 years older when he signed.

I just know when I watched Anderson before last year, he did everything, and he was only getting better. He was one of the most noticeable players on that BJ's team

if I was a Montreal fan I'd be excited about it

that was a very soft team and they have drafted two absolute midgets the last two years in Caufield and Sean Farrell

He's missed significant time with injuries in two out of the last three years. His last full year he was also riding shotgun with Panarin, so I think his offensive numbers are a bit inflated. The AAV isn't so bad but the term is pretty risky.

He's a solid player though, I like him.

Yeah.

The only thing I would worry about if I'm the Canadiens, is will he fit with how the team plays. Anderson was built for a Torts in your face, balls out team. Don't know if that will translate to the Canadiens style. I was hoping we would somehow get Anderson, he is definitely a Quinn type player.

Also not sure why Anderson contract is being seen as outrageous when Kreider got 7x45 at 29. Is Kreider that much better? I would argue no.
